Hot, but willing to actually play the game and not just watch the men play for 39 days. Erinn knew the game, but played under the radar (not the Sydney style coat-tail riding UTR, the "waiting until I can make a move and planting seeds till it's time" kind of UTR.) I don't think an "alpha female" necessarily has to be some ugly butch bitch... Heidi and Ami were perhaps the biggest alpha females ever and both were great characters. I think Candace had potential to be an all-time great, but was booted too early. Agreed that the season would have been much better had Sierra gone then instead. I blame her more than anyone for Timbira's implosion.

How could she have been more proactive? She was everywhere. She took every opportunity to advance herself in the game and tried not to seem like a chicken with her head cut off. She was a scambling flip flopping seed planting cockroach (uh...in a good way).

She was waiting for someone else to become a target, and Brendan did. Contrast with Sierra, who became a target and then proceded to draw as much attention to herself as possible. After the merge Erinn came out of hiding and made a strong alliance that almost got her the win.

If they'd get some more like Stepheme, they'd have a better showing.

It isn't a smart move to limit the number of alliances that you can place yourself in.

She switched to end up on the bottom of a four person alliance, instead of to be on the bottom of a six person alliance. She made a move to get herself two rounds further in the game. There wasn't another move that she could make. Debbie/Coach/Sierra were too dysfunctional for her to vote with at the f7. And we never saw that move brought to Erinn's attention. Then, at the f4, she convinced JT & Stephen to boot Taj and keep her. And at the f3, had she or Stephen won the IC she'd probably be in the f2 with a chance to win. Even when JT won the final IC, she still worked to get him to keep her. Not making it to the end =/= not playing a proactive game. I'm not even a huge Erinn fan and even I can see that she played the game to win. Just because she wasn't in control doesn't mean she rode coattails or acted as anyone's lap dog. She made all of the moves that she could have made given her situation.

Sierra definately could have made things better for herself by realizing at F7 that 4 > 3. Instead she ruined any change of the Timbira's teaming up and finished 7th. Erinn to her credit worked very hard, and got third, in a scenario where the vast majority of the time she'd be in F2 as well. If Candace had waited until the merge she could have picked and chosen which alliance to go with depending on how the game was going. By mutinying she made herself enemy number one. Candace was in a terrific position, had Jonathan and Ozzy below her on Aitu, could very easily swap to Adam & Parvati at the merge, and threw it all away because she couldn't wait a few more days until the merge.

She most definately would have been safe until the merge where she could stick with Aitu or flip to the other side (with or without Penner). Her mutiny put a HUGE target on her back that she could have avoided if not for being too impatient and thinking with her vag.

Her strategy was "well, I'll get to the final 4 and then take it from there." That essentially put her in fourth place and she got lucky that JT and Stephen were more afraid of Taj winning than Erinn and gave her third. She could have done more to switch back and forth between alliances but she didn't.
