Adam did the best he could with it. He was definitely better than Kris, who was straining all through it. I agree with SLD: the beginning was too low and the
end was too high. Kris was screwed no matter what key.

I hope they just release Ain't No Sunshine and Mad World as the co-winner's singles and never have Mountains and Hurricanes performed ever again. Even

Christ, what a putrid song - I felt badly for both Kris and Adam having to sing it. It was just a meandering, generic mess with no redeeming qualities

songwriter.

After listening to that, I can't believe I ever complained about "A Moment Like This," "This is the Night" or "Frying Chicken
Wings."
As much as I loved Mad World and Ain't No Sunshine, I hated this format for a finale. They had zero opportunity to sing anything new that they wanted. Forced to sing a Fuller choice and forced to sing Karacrap. And then a repeat. And they obviously didn't get a choice on what to sing when so they both had to end with a crappily written song that was wrong for them and ended the show on a downer. Think of season 2...love or hate Clay...he wisely chose to dispense of producer's choice and crappy coronation song early in the evening, leaving Bridge Over Troubled Water as the last thing people saw. |

I agree completely. If there ever should be a time when they ought to have full creative control of their performances, it should be for F2. Just let them sing
three songs of their own choosing (or whatever can get cleared) and let the chips fall where they may.
