The only way producers can save it is to:
-Stop putting the clues on exile. It tells everyone who may have the idol, effectively nullifying a blindside.
-Allow players to use it AFTER the vote has been revealed.
-Have one and only one idol

Should the Immunity Idol be Retired? |

The luster they once had has worn off. I'm not even sure if it's a benefit anymore.

The hidden immunity idol was only successful in one season
S11- Didnt really matter S12- Never used S13- Dont remember it being used S14- ???? S15- Just made a target, never used S16- This season was what it was because of the HII S17- Used to null 2 votes at Final 6 S18- Never used I hope that next season doesnt include the HII, just to make things fun again. Bring in some other twists, because 8 seasons of the HII is enough |

wrong. the solution has been, and always will be, to keep adding more hidden idols. since this season had 4 idols and none got played, season 19 should have
a minimum of 8 hidden idols, to increase the odds that the alpha male finds it and then doesn't play it. lolz

I wouldn't mind the HII if they got rid of Exile. I'm more tired of Exile than the idol. I think it's those two things in conjunction that make it all so routine and predictable. Have one HII per tribe, and each tribe member has access to the first clue. That way, anyone could have the idol. No one would be above suspicion. I suspect the voting would be a little less predictable that way. And no more Exile. It's just not that interesting to see some lone Survivor bemoaning their plight as they try to start a fire. |

S13- Dont remember it being used But due to the ridiculous "you can use it after the vote" rules that season, it never NEEDED to be played. It unquestionably kept Yul in the game until the end because nobody wanted to face it. At least they realized that SNAFU when the entire season came down to "He who finds the HII wins" i seriously dont remember a thing about survivor fijiFor that you should be grateful. |

The HII worked in one season, Guatemala. That's it. Ever since the rules were changed, and the HII started recieving more air time than the fourth place
finisher, the HII has sucked. I hope Pao giving the producers the ultimate "Fuck you" by not playing it will finally tell them to abandon the shitty
twist.

Haven't we always hated the HII and wanted it gone?

Who even thinks about them anymore? I think even the Survivors forgot about them. Did Coach even read his clue when he went to Exile this week? Or was production so entranced by his blatherings that they forgot to shoot that part? |

There should be one idol hidden somewhere around camp after the merge ala Guatemala, that's it.

They should do away with the idols as they do not provide much value to the show at all.

The idols are just fluff for the stupid people they have on the show that are too boring to put on the air.

Hmm. Let's say that there was no exile or HII this season:
- no Exile Alliance forms btwn Brendan, Taj, Sierra and Stephen . . . Even if there's exile and no idols, part of what made the exile alliance happen was the incentive of sharing control over two idols. - because there's no exile alliance, no chance of inter-tribe bonds happen and when there's a merge, Brendan decides it's too risky to be attempting an intertribal alliance, especially since he has now worked harder at kissing Coach's ass because he doesn't have the exile alliance or HII in his back pocket. - Brendan not being as shady causes a straight pagonging. Sucksters complain that pagongings are sooo predictable and why can't the producers do something to shake things up. - We don't get to see Eddie George. Boo hoo. - Power plays ensue at F6, Sierra and Erin are underestimated as non-threats, and end up as the F2. More Suckster complaints. - Winner: Erin. Everyone complains about a boring mactress win. |
