Season 2 - Also CLASSIC TV 3. Season 1 - The effects are lacking but the shows are strong <<<BIG GAP>>> 4. Season 5 - I liked Gory and the development of the characters. 5. Season 4 - The Angel crossovers were great. The shows were back to back and it made for an awesome night. 6. Season 7 - They never did explain Adam and it seemed sort of off track <<<BIG GAP>>> 7. Season 6 - The entire season was horrible.

Now, fans of the Buffyverse have been clamoring for a feature extension ever since the show's end in 2003; and they've made the Whedon-overseen comic books best sellers. Whedon has long been the hand on the wheel of the Buffy franchise, and his cultish fanbase are legion. That raucous sound you hear is that fanbase currently consulting an engineer to figure out exactly how to support all of the hell they're gonna raise. Because -- get this -- Whedon isn't involved. AT ALL. According to the news item, the producers aren't against the idea of Whedon's involvement, but they haven't "reached out to him." What's more, this new "film" would have no connection with the TV series, nor would it feature any of the show's robust supporting cast. In other words, they'd be jettisoning everything and everyone that made Buffy work. I swear, sometimes it's as if Hollywood sets out with "failure" plugged right into the GPS. The only reason that Buffy remains a viable franchise is because of the rabid, happy-to-purchase fanbase. And the only reason that fanbase exists is because of Joss Whedon. (There are actually t-shirts out there with "Joss Whedon is my master now" printed on them.) Why leave all that money on the table simply to make a shoddy Twilight-lite? Because there's no way those fans would turn out if Whedon wasn't involved -- what's more, they'd actively work to undermine it in every way possible. Clearly, Joss has more Buffy stories to tell. Even beyond the obvious pissing off of the fans, what kills me here is that Buffy the film flopped, Buffy the tv series was a cult hit. Neither of those spell success for a relaunch. This is going to fail with or without Whedon. I'd actually be just as worried with a Whedon-written relaunch, unless he truly took it back to the beginning and started with a whole new cast. That could possibly work. I would dread seeing SMG stepping into the role again though. It'd just be embarrassing seeing a bunch of 30-somethings reprising these roles.

Ugh! I can't imagine this idea playing out very well.

Do they really think rebooting Buffy is a great idea? Just gives us the movie with the original cast grown up and end the story, and then we'll be fine!

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is heading back to the big screen with a new movie based on the hit franchise. The character, most famously played by Sarah Michelle Gellar in the hit TV series, was originally introduced in the 1992 movie of the same name, starring Kristy Swanson. The following TV show ran for six years before coming to an end in 2003. And now the blood-sucking series could be heading back to the big screen with a brand new vampire slayer. Director Fran Rubel Kuzui, who directed the original film and executive produced the TV programme, owns the rights to the Buffy brand and is planning to reboot the franchise for cinemas, replacing Gellar and the rest of the cast with new actors to fight demons in a different generation. Kuzui tells the Hollywood Reporter, "Everything has its moment. Every movie takes on a life at some point, and this seems like the moment to do this."

Charisma carpenter managed to play Cordelia as a likable bitch, especially on Angel IDK if someone else will be able to pull that off.

And while I personally think she's done enough stuff to not just be connected to Buffy, she IS Buffy and continuing the franchise without her is the dumbest thing ever.
