"Survivor" winner Hatch freed from federal prison
PROVIDENCE, R.I.-"Survivor" winner Richard Hatch has been moved to a halfway house from the federal prison where he was serving time for failing to pay taxes on his reality TV prize.
Officials say Hatch left the federal prison in West Virginia on Monday and is held in a Pennsylvania halfway house.
Carla Wilson, a regional spokeswoman for Bureau of Prisons, says Hatch is expected to be released from the halfway house Oct. 7.
The 48-year-old Hatch has maintained his innocence. He appealed his conviction to the Supreme Court, which declined to take the case.
