Didn't Amy Acker get a new show? Will she not be coming back as Dr. Whiskey?
Yes, she is starring in "Happy Town" which has been picked up by ABC.

I think they're going to use real dolls instead of actors next season. |

With the budget cuts the network is demanding, they may have to.

Katy Carney wrote:She was recurring anyway so I'm sure she'll just appear less but still appear. Fox may have done terrible things to "Firefly," but consider the very different outcome for "Dollhouse." Dollhouse getting a second season when Firefly didn't Dollhouseownage!!! |

I am still in shock over this.

Dollhouse is the lowest-rated scripted drama to ever be renewed by one of the major networks.

I think you need to give Kevin Rielly some credit. When he was at NBC he renewed The Office when it's first season did horribly.

I think the networks are finally starting to realize that the Nielsen ratings are obsolete. They need to come up with a better way of measuring how many people
are actually watching their programs.

The other factor that doesn't seem to be taken into consideration is that the US is not the only market that watches US produced shows. In NZ and Australia
broadcasters have opted to show some programmes much earlier (2-3 weeks after US showing rather than 6 months to a year) due to the increase in downloading...
which means that they have to pay a lot more for the shows. This should also have some sort of impact on the longevity of a show, particularly seeing as we
have much more discerning taste over here... :)

I'm curious to see if 13 episodes will mean 13 new + Epitath One or 12 new + Epitath One.

Does it really matter though? It's 12 or 13 episodes more than most of us anticipated. I'll be happy with either outcome.

I would assume Epitaph stays right where it is on the DVD... it doesn't really work as a S2 premiere and would be silly to wait until next season's
post finale to finally air it.
The only reasonalbe scenario I see would be they show it some time over the Summer as a special "preview" type deal, but even that seems semi-pointless as it would be tough to promote under the circumstances and a sour note to start on if things went poorly. I am really looking forward to seeing it on the DVD... it can do no harm there. |

YAAYYYYYYY! Sha nanana....Hey Hey! it's here to stayyay.
But uh-oh or huh? Should we be worried re: "a shift in creative direction."? Also, last but not least: FUCK YOU Nielsen! You're not relevant anymore. I am one of the internet watchers. |
