A game that for one person (Elizabeth Hasselbeck sp?) lead to a contract with Barbara Walters. A game that, after taxes, nets the winner $600,000 (unless of course you used a casting company in which case they take their 10% in which case it is $540,000. A game that people think will vault them to stardom, a game that tests how much abuse you can put up with and still remain civil.... I heard they do psychological testing on the participants. I am also hearing rumors that effectively the contestants are picked and 'regular' people who submit packets are pretty much ignored unless they go through a casting company... I used to like Extreme Makeover Home Improvement until it came to Colorado and I was an extra. Now I can't watch it without throwing stuff at the TV screen. Sometimes this stuff doesn't bear up under close inspection. I doubt I will ever watch survivor again - learning what I learned about the show soured me on the experience. I used to enjoy it for the cool challenges. No longer. It ain't 'just a game.' Not anymore.
