I dunno, i never saw that Charlotte/cards scene as her testing Faraday to see if he could remember what the 3 cards were after a minute with them turned over...but, instead, her testing his memory of what they are supposed to be. Especially since Charlotte turned them over as if she wanted to find out as well. You would think SHE would remember the last card he got wrong too. :P

It would just seem odd to me that if Faraday truly cant rememeber 3 cards after a minute or two...how could he possible be functional with people? He'd be forgetting everything all the time. Alot more scatterbrained...forgetting peoples names, what they talked about 10 minutes earlier, etc.

So it seems more logical to think of it as Faraday trying to connect with an internal vision of his past/present/future all at once. I think he seems scatterbrained...not because he just forgets things he just saw...but he cant remember most things that were/always have been...even though he has the ability to sorta know?

I think through his experiments, and great interest in the theory of time, he has the unique ability to have memories of his past/present/future all at once...(similar to Desmond sometime having had the ability to grasp a vision of the future when it came to Charlie)..Faraday's problem is that its ingrained somewhere in his psyche he just cant tap into it.

This is why all these feelings of his future come bubbling up in his present. He's lived his entire life, he has the vision of the entire loop of it, he just cant connect with it.

This is why he cries when he see the 815 crash (he knows his future with them, but doesnt really remember the details). This is why he tells Charlotte he is in love with her, when his present self barely knows her. His feelings for her are more profound simply because he already knows his future with her...watching her die, being there for her when she is a child, etc...and its in there, in his head, but he cant connect with it clearly.
