I could see Coach getting roles as a seedy villain character in Seagal/Van Damme films.

I've seen many people comment in various forums, some long time Survivor fans, that they will no longer watch Survivor because of the fact that this idiot
has gotten so much air time. Personally, I wonder if it was a huge mistake for the Survivor producers to assume that casting an obviously mentally ill person
on the show would be ratings gold. There are so many problems with this decision. Although some would argue that allowing this delusional character on the game
to boost ratings was an unethical decision in the first place (on an individual level), I'm not one to feel sorry for this guy, pathetic, pitiful and when
you get down to it, as deeply insecure as he may be. However, subjecting viewers to this guy's inner world, and exposing them to the disgusting antics that
essentially cost other good players the game, seems really unfair to the viewers who root for the more *sane* players. Not to mention the unfairness to the
other players who unwittingly ended up in his tribe! This I think has been a huge turn off for a lot of people.
Yes, Stephen, JT and Taj have played a great game, but let's face it. They also got lucky that they didn't end up on *that* tribe. All they really had to do was play off of all of that crazy dysfunction after the merge. Stephen is smart, but it sure didn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. On the other hand, there are Survivor fans on the other side of the camp who think all of his BS was entertaining, and don't give a second thought to the unfairness of it all. I'll admit to sometimes being fascinated that someone could be so self aggrandizing, self righteous and hypocritical within one uttered sentence, however, I cannot get over how unfair it is to the tribe mates who had such potential, but ended up on his team. |

He fooled the contestants into trusting him, and now, im sure the producers are in a bind as to how to deal with him in the reunion show. |

Wrong. I fast forward through his bullshit, meaning I DO take my eyes off of it, and that's the entire fucking problem here.
I couldn't stand StepheME but she was amusing to watch and write about. Coachbag is just horrible in every way. People who find him entertaining probably like the smell of their own farts. -SJ™ |

FWIW, the Dan Gokey hate thread is now longer than this, which is actually quite pathetic. We must add more hate for Coachbag.

First of all, who the fuck is Dan Gokey?
Second of all, unless he rapes little girls, I cannot imagine him ever being as disgusting and as worthy of hate as Coach is... |

SucksSucks wrote:I'm way too cynical to believe he fooled casting. As far as the contestants, Coach didn't fool the smart ones at all. He was merely a predictable player that the smart ones decided to take advantage of so long as it was in their best interests to do so. The smart players realized that Coach would remain loyal his tribal alliances. This led to the other stronger players on the team to endorse the strategy of stroking Coach delusions in order to get further in the game, and to encourage his belief that he was running the show. They let him run the show in camp to such an extent that anytime this fool felt slighted by someone, they became the "cancer" who was subjected to his abuse and then ousted from the tribe. And it was the women of course who were the subjects of the abuse most of the time--he was sure to target the stronger more independent women on the tribe early on. Shit, he was harassing toward the women even when he was trying to be nice! What a creep. And what's worse, some of them, the smart ones as well as the not so smart ones, jumped in on the emotionally abusive bandwagon. At this point, the camp norm has already been established and nasty behavior has become perfectly acceptable because it is never challenged (except on one occasion--and no good deed goes unpunished) nor are there consequences for such behavior (Tyson was not voted out for being nasty). Steven, Taj and JT are still stroking Coach delusions to further their game, but to their credit, they at least have shown sympathy toward Sierra and have not gotten involved in the drama gunk. I truly cannot stand Coach. Not funny at all. |

I would rather another season with StepheME and Rupert. I'm totally serious.
Great post River50 and that's my whole issue right now is that they KNEW what an idiot he was out there so why did they invest so heavilly in him during editing? What, just so we can all say "oh, they were trying to humiliate him!" No, they thought he would be ratings gold. He isn't. -SJ™ |

Coach isn't a "villain," he's just plain vile. And even when this shitty season is done in a few days, I highly doubt this will be the end
of his media-whoring. I don't think he can be humiliated. Those of us who see him for the repugnant lying shitbag that he is must be the delusional ones
in his world. I bet he's having delusions of grandeur about his future as an actor/model/ladies' man around Hollywood.
