I wonder if there are small stations periodically that contain info and tidbits about the area. Rather than Jeffy telling them a bedtime story, they must read it for themselves and only when they think they have it digested, do they move on. At the end, they have to answer a bunch of questions. First to get it right, wins. How long they stay at each station is up to them. I can see Taj and Stephen taking their time and fully digesting the info before running off. Kind of like how Taj & Stephen took forever memorizing the math symbols. Yeah, but Stephen would have a hard time turning the story into numbers. And would they do similar memorizing challenges back-to-back?

Is it possible that they run through the maze sighted, then pull the bandana down and do the last part blind? Like, they have a big box of letters, and have to feel out the ones to spell what they just ran through, ala Mr. Gabonhead? The only other thing I could think of is they have to form their bodies into the shapes of the letters, as judged by a group of brazilian school teachers ala the meke reward challenge. Ben wins, because of his knot untying meditation practices, and exiles himself.

Could it be that they are doing a sighted run through of the maze, as they try and memorize the course. Then they run the course blindfolded. . Stephen is at the very back, perhaps taking his time to memorize effectively, as he did in the previous challenge. . The one problem I see with this maze is that it is so limiting to having 5 people running it at the same time. So is it possible they run the maze independently and are timed? But, I don't think there has ever been a timed challenge on the show. There were a couple of timed breath-holding challenges in Borneo and, I think, Thailand. Can't think of any others off the top of my head.

I can't see them letting them use the buffs for blindfolds because those buffs get a lot of hard use and some could have holes in them, etc. Much safer if production uses blindfolds were nobody can claim (right or wrong) that someone had an advantage because their buff had holes in it or was worn thin or whatever. I have never seen a buff used in a competition where blindfolds are required.

Doesn't explain all that much, although if there's something they need to collect from the "S" and bring back, that could be a bit of a pain.

The obvious reason to have towers is so you could climb up and see the letters, but that would make the challenge even less blind than just not having blindfolds. They don't look like they are carrying anything.
