In my rewatch I noted:

Sounds like they get their asses beat again.
Ben tried to kill Locke twice. He succeeded once. Well not really... Did anyone notice Jack (in the previews) with a gun opening fire on a group of people? It went by so fast I didn't see details. Seemed strange to me considering he's never actually killed anyone before. |

Jack killed the lawman bringing Kate back to the states, after Sawyer botched the shooting.

I think what Richard said about the picture was deliberately vague.
And I kind of took what Ben said to indicate that he did mean to actually kill Locke the second time even though it was under the guise of him having to die to get back to the island. I can't remember if Ben ever actually thought of it that way anyway. When Christian told Locke he'd have to die Ben wasn't present and I don't recall Locke telling Ben. I think Ben just killed him to get through the loophole of Locke needing to be on the plane and hoped after they landed he'd stay dead. Locke intimidates Ben. Which is ironic considering how it was the other way around in the hatch. I think I kind of assumed at first that because we knew Locke had to die to get back that Ben did too but after I thought about it I don't think he did. It's starting to get confusing trying to remember who knows what and who was present for what conversations. |

Well, is Locke alive? I mean in the sense that the rest of the characters are alive. He's probably in the same alive/dead meta-state as Christian: both
brought to the island dead and in a casket. But both are seen and interact with the "alive," but I don't recall ever seeing Christian actually
physically interact with the world: move objects, open a door, etc. He's simply there. Locke, OTOH, does interact with the physical world, like bringing
in the dead animal, holding the torch, etc. I've always assumed that Jacob was the manifestation of the island, how (in PoChop's idea) it
communicates. But with John so matter-of-factly saying he's going to kill Jacob, I'm wondering. So is John alive like everyone else? Christian did
seem to be a mouthpiece for the island/Jacob but John clearly isn't... unless, of course, Jacob really wants to die ("help me," he said to John).
And John will be the new Jacob. Maybe it just got boring in that small cabin after a few centuries, and time for a new caretaker, sort of like (allusion to
Merillin's post) the knight guarding the holy grail in Indiana Jones 3.

No, he put him out his misery because he was dying. |

And he did that by killing him.

He would have died anyway. Ok, rephrase: He never killed someone who would have continued living.
Anyway my point was that scene in the previews. The finale is "eating my soul" already. |

I didn't notice him opening fire, all I noticed was him with a newly bloody face, and K/S/J standing on some grassy knoll looking all angry or something.

If I can remember correctly it looked like he was standing right in front of one of the houses pointing a gun and pulling the trigger.
I just saw it again on youtube. It looks like Jack just opened fire into a crowd of screaming people trying to run away lol.

That was the first and only time he has physically interacted with something as far as I know. |

He picked up and lit a lantern down in the donkey room chamber when Locke fell down there. Assuming it was a real lantern

Oh yeah I forgot about that ghost Lantern. So do you think we will get much from the people who were on flight 316 or will they hold off until next season?

Maybe there is someone in the crowd who was shot by Sawyer first and he/she is on the verge of dying and Jack is putting them out of their misery. We know
from last week that Jack isn't a big fan of misery. Just ask Kate.
Okay Felicia I'm just kidding. I saw the promo a little while on tv. I'm hoping that Jack is just aiming for a particular person in the crowd and has a good reason for it. |
