??Blind to Reason? Erinn totally doesn't have a blindfold, and Ben and JT both have theirs up over their eyes.
Looks like a sandbag on that horizontal bar in the foreground. Some sort of counterbalance that raises the bar to let you into the next section? One white flag is already up, does that mean Stephen is ahead? Did JT bring a picnic basket? Have they prepared a little survival kit for the exilee? |

Looks like Coach is limping in the action shot.

They aren't blindfolds, birdlady. None of them have it over their eyes.

So what is "blind to reason"? Seems like there should be some blindness and some reasoning in the challenge...

Maybe there's part of the challenge where they use blindfolds and then they can put them on their heads? I don't know.

The bags are hidden, so they would be blind to them...the one we see is Red, so it must be Coach's
Are Taj and Stephen at stations in the second pic? |

Perhaps they've gone back to the "read a local legend - answer questions" for this. The story could involve a blind god or something.
How's that for a stretch? |

I don't know what's the connection to the challenge but the maze forms a word. I don't know what exactly.

From TDT is spells SURVIVE, or at least the first 3 letters are SUR, so I am guessing Survive. I wonder if they have to run the maze and then guess what word it spells? http://www.truedorktimes.com/survivor_tocantins/spoilers/e12/rc.htm

it looked like 2 letters after the last V, so maybe survivOR?
this is gonna be fun! I'm wondering, since it's seems they're running the same path from start to finish, if they don't all have a station in each letter that they have to *solve* before proceeding. The maze is just to slow people down or make it open for people to have a chance to catch up in the straightaways, so to speak. |

Ya I'd say SURVIVOR is the word. If there are stations solving the riddle could be more key than speed.
ETA - TDT also has the O-R . Do the lanes may increase at the maze goes along?

JT is quite a bit ahead. I'd guess he rather than the spec-ed upon Erinn wins RC. Unless Coach does and Exiles himself. This should be a very good
reward.

From the overhead, it doesn't seem like much of a maze (not a lot of choices about which way to go), and I don't see anything like a
"station". Could it be just that you have to guess the letters? The gate/flags are the dividing line between characters? The one we see up does look
like between the first two, and the one we see down could start the R.
Interesting to have to translate the boundaries of your footpath into a shape, but seems sorta easy once you got S-U. The first part would be sorta careful and exploring, then once you got it it would be a sprint. So JT being ahead might not mean much. Erinn may be moving a little quicker than the rest of them, has she already got it? Does the fact that they bothered to give everyone a color tell us that there is something else to do at the end of the maze, something where they each need to go to their own table or whatever? |

We see the red bag...That along with the name of the challenge suggests they are searching for something.

The flag and sandbag just look attached to the gate into each letter to me.
There's gotta be more to this challenge than follow the Disneyland gates to the ride... |

ROFL!
Disneyland gates to the rideI dunno why but i just laughed so hard you almost owed me a new monitor! As to the challenge, i can't see Stephen or Taj being SOOO far behind the others if it was just a straight out run through the maze. I wonder if there are small stations periodically that contain info and tidbits about the area. Rather than Jeffy telling them a bedtime story, they must read it for themselves and only when they think they have it digested, do they move on. At the end, they have to answer a bunch of questions. First to get it right, wins. How long they stay at each station is up to them. I can see Taj and Stephen taking their time and fully digesting the info before running off. Kind of like how Taj & Stephen took forever memorizing the math symbols. The flags look to be generic. Generic bag, generic flag and all of them seem to have to pass through it. (you can see thin branches on the sides of the corridor between letters to corral them to the next letter) I think the flags are just so Jeffy can say "JT is on to the next section. Coach close behind!" Since the first gate is still up, it's not like it resets itself shut for the next survivor to unlock it to enable them entrance. |
