Anyway, at first I kept thinking whatever happened happened, but Eloise sending Daniel back makes me think they can change things. (I don't read spoilers, just speculating, mostly trying to figure out the gamechanger twist and that's what leads me to this theory.) |

Now she's going to try and mess up Sawyer's happiness again and as soon as he's back with her (I hope to gawd that doesn't happen) she'll decide for some off the wall reason she needs to go tag along with Jack for awhile. She tries to be strong but is actually very weak. |

The "real" sequence of events is that Dharma keeps mining the Swan, hits the crazy magnet (call before you dig!), and there's your Incident. From Eloise's perspective in 2007, they had tried to blow up the H-bomb but somehow failed (frankly I have a hard time believing an H-bomb could still be potent after sitting in a dank tunnel for 25 years). Since the Incident occurs if she doesn't act anyway, she may as well act, thinking that maybe "this time" it will work (even though logically there's only one "this time" and it didn't work). Few if any of us have mentioned that changing things would be an unresolvable paradox. Jack/Faraday prevent the Incident. Jack never crashes on the island. Faraday never goes to look for him. Neither of them get sucked back in time. Neither of them can prevent the Incident. The Incident occurs, bringing Jack and Faraday to the island. In other words, to prevent the Incident, it must occur anyway. Paradox. That's not even considering all the little things the other losties have done that were "supposed" to happen (Sayid shooting Ben, etc). So logically, Jack's attempt to prevent the Incident absolutely must fail, unless they start talking about alternate universes and stuff, which I'm not sure I could handle. (Though there are problems with this scenario, mainly in casting). Yeah the main problem is that if they were to film this scene the spoilers would know about it immediately. Hmm, Charlie, Boone, Shannon, Eko, AL, Libby, Cindi, Claire, Walt, Michael, Nikki, Paolo, Arzt, Scott/Steve, the marshal, the pilot, and anyone else I forgot are all being flown to Hawaii at the same time. Ah, that's probably nothing. Plus, if that were the end of the show, it would be way too close to the dreaded "it was all a dream" ending. |

Why did Richard say he saw Kate and Jack die?Richard said, "I saw them all die". Meaning, I saw all the Dharma people die. Not Kate, Jack, Hurley etc. specifically. Volume on, they plan on moving the bomb to where the Swan hatch is going to be built and detonate it there.dialed in - What makes you think they move the bomb to the Swan site? I think the bomb stays at The Temple (directly under Dharmaville). At the exact moment Widmore strikes the detonating pin, the drill at either The Swan or The Orchid (not sure which since they are drilling at both) hits a pocket of electromagnetic energy. The combination of that is what causes The Incident. My conclusion isn't based on any spoilers. It's only my theory but it makes sense. |

Am I the only one who's going to be really fucking annoyed if the season finale ends with the bomb getting blown up? How predictable.
Fuck the 70s, I hope they all get nuked and the entire sixth season is Locke, Ben, and Alpert having epic pissing matches while fighting an apocalyptic final battle against Widmore and his cronies. I could definitely get behind that idea. No fucking love quadrangle sounds good to me. She tries to be strong but is actually very weak. Which is exactly why I can't stand the character. That's what a strong woman is supposed to be like? Really, writers? Just kill the skank off. SA, you need to share your Kate-hate with us more often, lol. |

One thing that got explained when Elouise said that Dharmaville was built over where they put the bomb is why there is a tunnel with Egyptian hieroglyphics
right under Ben's house. The question is whether TDI knew about it or if the access point was put in after the purge by The Others. Probably never get an
answer to that and it's not really that big of a question in the grand scheme of things.

I guess the bomb might blow or might not. Future island points to it not having blown up in 1977, but even if it does blow up why couldn't the island move
again or something a split second before it blows? Maybe the drilling incident is what causes the island to move (maybe you don't need to turn the wheel)
a split second before the bomb explodes , and this in combination with the bomb exploding causes an uncontrolled move that also starts the island moving in
space-time instead of just in space. Also any ramifications of the incident could now spread into the distant past and the distant future. In fact, the
incident may be what gives the island the jumping property in the first place and is what makes it such a special place to explorers from the past (even the
Egyptians). I'd hope that in the end, should they ever "fix" the island, that the island ends up being just a normal Pacific island, filled with
hotels and resorts and a modern airport, because the incident never happened and for all time the island was just another island and never hidden. Maybe
that's what Alpert and Ben were talking about when they were worried that Locke might mess everything up. Maybe the "island" wants to be free
and not subjugated by any group of people. Not the Others, not DHarma, not Hanso, not Widmore, not the Losties.
BTW, was Richard making the Black Rock in that bottle? He keeps striking me as an officer from a ship, being so level headed and all. |

This is enormously off-topic, but while we're on the "whatever happened, happened" and Eloise's "course correction" idea, we've
seen her and Locke, and even Abaddon for that matter, make sure that people get to where they belong.
SO, how exactly did Eloise find out that Desmond was going to be sent back in time in "Flashes Before Your Eyes" so that she was able to catch up with him and make sure he broke up with Penny? And beyond that, when Desmond was getting switched around in "The Constant" (knowing now that, whatever happened, happened) are we supposed to assume that there were actually TWO Desmond's around in 1996 or whenever it was? One that he was actually living as, and a second one that re-appeared due to his temporal displacement? Or did Desmond actually re-write history in this event? And it can't be all in his head because him contacting Penny both in the past and the future DID happen. All this time travel stuff makes sense to me--except for "special" Desmond. |
