Daniel seems to just disappear after they're 'caught' by the Dharma Initiative, and no mention is made of him after that. So unless I'm missing something, can someone please explain what happened? I recall Juliet being talked out of leaving on the sub in 1974 by Sawyer, but didn't see Daniel get on board. |

Horace told the losties that a sub was coming and they would need to leave. Then Sawyer smoothed things over with Richard (the hostiles) and Horace said that
they could stay to find their friends and let them join the D.I.
I think we have to assume that Daniel got on that sub (3 years ago in 1974). Or at the very least, one of the subs between '74 and '77. Now since we know he's been working for Dharma in Ann Arbor, we also have to assume he left the island as a member of the Dharma science team. |

Daniel seems to just disappear after they're 'caught' by the Dharma Initiative, and no mention is made of him after that. When Sawyer is driving Jack, Kate and Hurley back to Dharmaville in 77 he mentions Faraday. Jack says "Faraday is here?" and Sawyer says something like "Not anymore." At the time we didn't know what he meant. |

Then Jack asks, "What about Rose, Bernard? They here? And Frogurt? Where's he?"
Then Sawyer says, "I haven't seen Rose and Bernard, but Frogurt got hit with a flaming arrow." Jack, "Good, I couldn't stand him." Oh, wait, I think I imagined that last part. |

To those who believe that the Comic-Con video is not canon, it appears you are correct. The following is from an interview with Damon and Carlton recently
posted on Lostpedia:
Alex: Moving on to more show, or so to speak, related questions. In the special alternate reality game The Dharma Project from last year. A lot of fans want to know, since basically funding was pulled out of the Dharma project last year, what was going to be the final revelation of The Dharma Project? Since The Lost Experience was about the numbers, and Find 815 was about the fake wreckage, so, what was going to be the final act of The Dharma Project? Damon: Essentially the whole idea was to signal to the audience that our characters: Jack and Kate and Sawyer and Hurley and Juliet and Sayid were going to end up in Dharma times, and Faraday too, sorry, and Miles of course, strongly imply that our characters were going to appear in Dharma times. So that would be something that would be sort of set up in the Internet experience. I think some people believe that they hear Faraday's voice in the Comic-Con experience. These events are sort of partially canon but more promotional than they are canon. Giving the audience a sneak peak as to what the season is about. |

Just in case there is anyone else as clueless as I am about the word "canon":

Why couldn't it be done with number crunching? That's what physics does. As for Chang's activities, I'd suppose Dharma had a copy of Chang's work schedule, so Faraday knew when he'd arrive and what was scheduled to do that day. Idunno... maybe I'm not seeing the big mystery here. |
