Yeah, I was clearly listing the ballroom dancers. The only ones I didn't mention were Snow, Artem, Stanislav, Faina, and Jamie, and they were all professionals too. Well, maybe not Faina (despite her immense talent, I recall her saying she was in business or something)... but like I said; most of them are professionals, and it's clearly more than a handful.littltimmy wrote:"Most"? I thought most SYTYCD dancers were professionals, especially the ballroom dancers. Benji, Lacey, Heidi, Dmitri, and Chelsie have all made it far in contests (or won, in some cases).
They really have to be professionals in order to be able to compete on that show. Dancing isn't something you can just do as a small hobby and expect to be talented enough to make the show. Most of the dancers on the show are either students who are majoring in dance, or they are professional dancers (in one way or another). Yes, some of them have crappy jobs to pay for school, but it is very rare to have someone on the show who has another legitimate career who dances on the side. There was Jessie with her dead end crappy job, but really, she was an exception.
It's not cute.
