Best show ever | ||

This is literally the best show I've ever seen. It's an absolute mystery why Joss Whendon never tried to do something else with it on the Sci Fi
channel. He's a complete moron to let this show just disappear with the huge fan base it has. Watch this show if you've never seen it. You just
don't know what you're missing!!

Don't think he didn't try everything he could to keep it going. I think you can easily say it was his favourite.

Legal properties, the events of the film arc wise, and the fact that the film did just okay at the box office all factored into the show not reviving itself further post Serenity DVD release. Whedon truly did the impossible by getting Serenity made. Trust me, if it was as easy as going to Sci-Fi and continuing the series, it would have been done. |

What I mean is, what about now. So Serenity was a box office bomb. It's made it's money back by now with DVD popularity which by the way is still
going strong. Every time I go to Blockbuster it's gone. He could have made that sequel if he wanted. It may have had to be in the form of a TV Sci Fi
channel movie or miniseries or God forbid even reviving the sereis again, post movie on the Sci fi channel. It's got to be doable even now. Have you seen
the crap that gets aired on that channel? I realize back in the days before Serenity, nobody would pick it up again. But what about now. Whendon wrote a
trilogy story that was never completed. I WANT THAT TRILOGY.

You (and we) don't know any of the logistics. Don't think for a sec he's just resting on his laurels and isn't trying. NO ONE wants it back
more than Joss. Not even you.

Didn't he say that was the happiest he's ever been. And he can't figure out why he's not still doing it. Those actors said it was the best jobs
they would ever have.

While I hope and wish you are right.... I doubt you are right. This new Dollhouse series is what he chose. He brought it to Fox no less. FOX! The murderers of Firefly. He sold his soul to Fox apparently. If he wanted it back, it would be back. He doesn't. He's got other things to do, like that DVD mess Dr. Horrible which while slightly funny, it's a waste of his gifted mind. I used to believe there'd be more Firefly. I really have given up. I just personally promote it now as often as I can to anyone willing to watch it for the first time. Can you not admit that if he wanted to do a Firefly minisereis for Sci Fi it would be greenlighted in a heartbeat? Seriously, they's probably be thrilled with something having actual quality for a change. I refuse to believe he exhausted all possibilty and then let it go. I read an interview with him (whedon)that said there was NO plans for another Serenity and that the fans should just accept it. I have. I hate him. |

At the time, one or more of the cast had projects. As it turns out, with Castle's less than stellar ratings...TSCC being canceled, and I think the rest of them not involved in anything at the moment, the cast could reunite.
But it'll never happen. :P
But I do agree with you about Dollhouse and Fox. It's a few episodes away from cancellation itself, and I'm not exactly sure what Whedon thought Fox would do for him. He doesn't bring in nearly the numbers to be on any network besides maybe the CW. |

"You really don't know what you're talking about. " I don't know what I'm talking about? Respectfully, could you please explain/defend his descision to work with Fox again? He's already paying, as Dollhouse doesn't stand a chance. They're gonna do to it just the same as Firefly. And what else am I mistaken about? If you know him personally to say that, or any hopeful information God knows I'd like to be proven wrong. |

Yes, but "According to Jim" should not count because James Belushi sold his soul to Satan a long time ago, and that show is just the devil making
good on his end of the bargain.
Even Satan coudn't make A2J worthy of a feature film though. That's asking too much! I could live without a Firefly sequel, but somebody please find Kaylee and get her back on TV! That girl is F-I-N-E. |

Kaylee has been active on Stargate Atlantis for a few years, unfortunately that show is also at it's end.

The fact of the matter is, the time has come and is gone. The cast and crew have moved on to different things -- you could argue whether or not they are
bigger and/or better; frankly, I don't care. BUT they have moved on. Further, given the casting changes caused by the events of the movie IT WOULDN'T
BE THE SAME.
No one was a bigger Firefly fan than me (ok, maybe Jit, but no one else ;) ). I would have loved to see it come back -- three years ago. But now, I have moved on too. As for Joss going back to Fox, frankly I don't think he was being pursued by anyone else. I think Joss is a god....a lot of people here do as well. The whole world doesn't (as evidenced by less than stellar ratings for his shows). Could he go to Sci Fi? Maybe. But there are downsides -- less money, a smaller audience being two of them. It probably has its own politics as well, and Sci Fi has their own scheduling issues as well (Eureka, anyone?). I would love to see Joss take his next series to Sci Fi, but to deny that there are downsides with that shows a pretty small world view. |
