I'm not minding this season, but I definitely think it's time to put the series to rest.

It just occurred to me that there may be one way of saving the series. If you consider the severity of the various terrorist attacks that the US has suffered
in the show over the course of the past 7 years (or whatever it is now), the governance of American society would be drastically different than it was on day
1. Consider the way in which the stock markets would have been affected - in RL, most likely the American economy and indeed the global economy would have been
completely devastated. But even more drastic would have been the draconian laws that most likely would have been put in place after such a series of attacks
... we're talking Escape from New York-style security, or the rise of crazy militia groups, or even states declaring independence because the federal
government can't protect them. The possibilities are endless.
But, according to the show, American society doesn't seem to have changed at all! Why not explore some of these types of scenarios? |

Another network did that.
It was called Jericho. Great series, much beloved by its fans, but mostly famous for the sending of nuts to the network suits. Still, this is an interesting point: why not instead of worrying about Valencia California getting nuked or that little Iowa town this season, how about the entire US economy? You did hear that 24 is in NYC next season, right? This could be the change of game that you're envisioning. |

Because a season of 24 about the economy would be fucking boring? I can turn on CNN any time of day to hear them whining about numbers. I want to see
terrorists try to blow shit up and Jack Bauer kick their asses.

What? Bank run riots aren't fun no more?
Nuking Valencia was more visually appealing; I'll give you that. |

MR. PRESIDENT, WHERE ARE THE TARP FUNDS?! - jack bauer
does not seem that cool to me... |

Fine.
You philistines don't want to see the free world under assault by Islamic Banking? Fine. Can we get back to Kim Bauer hatred? Having babysitted an Ira Gaines minion, having babysitted a cougar, having babysitted an actual baby... now she's delegating babysitting duries? To a husband? Who seems to have all limbs intact? I thought the deal was with Kim that if you boink her, one of your extremities would soon be gone? Insufferable bitch. No-tell on the granddaugher? |

Ok, let me try Goosehead.
Kim Bauer is walking across the street and gets hit by a 2 ton bus (i've already hooked 3/4 of 24 fans right there!). The rest of the day consists of Jack trying to get her admitted to a hospital and (more tough) getting the insurance company to authorize the proceedure. We could have 24 hours of Jack choke-slamming some HMO bueraucrat against a wall screaming "we're runnning out of time!". And best of all, Kim would be in a coma and unable to inflict any dialogue on us for the entire season. What do you think? |

having kim's baby named "teri" was a nice touch, though. |

Ha Ha
Hodges didn't know who Jack Bauer was and then said he watched his hearing on TV the day before... ETA... The show is only 24hr if watched on TV with commercials... it's really 16.8 hrs of viewing time... a marathon, regardless.

It is escapist tv, you twits.
Or would you rather watch more Wife-Swapping, Speidi, Swine Flu updates and Karaoke Idol? Ok back on point I for one have enjoyed the insanity. I still have a feeling we will find out that Tony is actually DEEP DEEP under cover and actually trying to stop the plot - note that he pushed to do an attack immediately with one canister rather than 20+ and Jack figured they'd do so. Jack has killed Chappelle and Curtis to serve the greater good - no reason Tony wouldn't do the same thing.... |

I didn't think he could see who was talking when Jack walked in.
Also, love seeing me some Rafi Gavron.

I had a feeling Tony was still bad when he went to Jack on those steps at twilight and asked for his help again. However, I let that hinky feeling go because I felt like he was really trying to fix things. Thinking back...when he wouldn't give Jack the name of the person feeding him info...I should've known better. I agree with you that people should just have fun with it. I, for one, had a blast with Jack screaming in Janice's face. I thought her glasses would shatter. Unfortunately, it was ruined with the whole Palmer/Taylor thing. Ugh. And...sad to say...I think today is Chloe's last day on earth. Edited because I capitalized "twilight" like I got some Edward Cullen obsession |

k today is Chloe's last day on earth. >>
Season only ends good for me if Chloe takes out Garafalo (sp?) by shoving her head through a monitor |

I don't think they kill Chloe; she's really the only person Jack has left besides Kim. If he loses either of them Jack couldn't come back from
that. I was more worried she's working with Tony (that would be a huge fucking twist).
Still loved the Jack smackdown even if he is losing his mind.... |
