I just looked into MESS this afternoon out of desperation for next-episode discussion, and I thought I'd mention it here, but I didn't see anything spoilery and I came to my senses. Can I still make winner predictions without Oo verbally abusing me?

Are there spoilers out there?

After yesterday's episode, "Spoilers" (yeah, right) have a sparkling 2-6 boot prediction record (and that includes the Joe "gimme" from
the previews).

Good, because I didn't want my out-of-the-box choice of Stephen to raise any eyebrows.

Ratings After A Second Watch:
Brendan - CPP4 Coach - OTTN5 Debbie - INV1 Erinn - MOR2 JT - MOR4 Sierra - UTR1 Stephen - CPP3 Taj - UTR2 Tyson - OTTN2 Winner: Stephen (No one else is even close at this point) JT (Only if the editors are trying to capitalize on the Gabon ratings by giving a winner the casual fans will cream themselves over.) |

Forget N for JT, how is he not CP? And how is Stephen CP??? He had a nice OTTP moment.

Finally watched the episode and I loved it. I don't really know why, but it just clicked with me. As always, a few notes before I
go into my preliminary ratings:
1) Wow, I will be crushed if Stephen backstabs JT or vice versa. They totally have each other's backs and it feels like a real friendship. Survivor editors, don't play with my emotions! Maybe Stephen's personal growth story coincides with a slight gameplay change. I'm going to go out on a limb and be one of the few who think a Stephen/JT F2 could be a distinct reality. 2) That reward was amazing. WHY ISN'T DEBBIE GETTING MORE AIRTIME? Her personality seems absolutely infectious everytime she speaks. 3) This episode definitely cleared up any confusions I had coming out of last episode. Coach is definitely not "new Coach" and JT is definitely not aligning with the devil. Forza Brendan - CPP4: Had his "Sugar" moment where he talks about how much JT deserves to win. Was shown being honest and truly trying to pull something together to get a JT win. CP because of all his definite strategy talk and discussion of how the end game needs to play out. Taj - UTR2: Barely there. Coach - OTTN5: Ridiculous dragonslaying, paratrooping, river-rafting, magic man stories make him an easy OTT. Being an idiot gives him an N. Tyson - MORN2: Honestly, this rating could be wrong. I don't remember him at all from the episode besides his ridiculous Sierra comment. Seemed to be more present than say, Taj, from his presence in the IC and pre-TC discussion but not terribly complex. Debbie - UTR1: Poor Debbie, at least she got a confessional. Erinn - MOR2: Erinn is definitely one of my favorites this season. She seems to really have a hold on her surroundings, even if she fails completely at the social game. She has a pulse that's barely registering though. Her lack of presence in any boot discussion makes her a clear MOR. That scene with JT didn't give us any more than we already knew, Erinn outlasts Tyson/Coach. Sierra - UTR1: Yawn. Stephen - CP3: Got ridiculous character development this episode. I'm not sure if he should get a "P" or not for the fire scene. I'm going to lean to neutral, but I could see the argument the other way. This was the perfect episode for a possible winner. JT - CPP4: The "P" is a given. His position in the game was clearly defined this game, which I think warrants a CP. We know where he stands with Sierra, Brendan, Coach, Tyson, and Erinn from this episode. Once again, he was shown weighing his options and had his discussion with Stephen about which way to go. The crazy amount of positive SPV he got this episode is a little alarming, but I'm going to go with the "If you have a winner this good, run with it" theory. JT seems to embody all the right themes and has all the right confessionals. The fact that everybody else loves him is just icing in the editor's cake. Winner's: JT - He has an incredibly full story. He will be linked to everybody on the jury besides Deb (but no one is really linked to Deb at this point) and his win would be satisfying. They emphasized JT being down in numbers for three straight episodes now at some point during the episode or recap. He still has a couple hurdles to jump (Taj practically called JT the obvious boot at TC) and many more that could be created by the editors. JT's episode one caught my eye and since then, he's never really been underedited. Stephen - A close #2. If I was a completely logical, rational human being, I would probably pick Stephen as my Edgic choice. He's so perfect and so well-hidden that it's hard to deny his edit. Nonetheless, I'm banking on his fire scene being equivalent to S12 Cirie's fire scene or S17 Kenny's provider scene. Big strategic characters who have great story arcs but seem to always fall just a little short. Eliminated: Coach/Tyson/Debbie/Sierra/Taj/Erinn |

After last night's episode, how could anybody think JT won't win? Everybody loves him! Brendan got a mancrush so hard that he completely lost his game.
Edgical translation: JT doesn't win. (But he'll get the $100K OTTP consolation prize.) |

Hey everyone...great season...wish i had more time to do more than just read edgic...
Stephen and Erin are my winners with JT going 4th if there is a final 3 or 3rd if there is a final 2. Did Coach state during tribal council that the Amazon Kidnap further involved "eating of his ass"? |

I absolutely loved that episode. It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Really? As soon as Tyson won immunity, I knew Brendan was a goner. This was clearly not going to be a Coach boot episode. Was I the only one wishing we had seen some talk between JT/Stephen about who they were going to go with? I would think JT would want to go with the guy who wants him to win, and that anyone else with any sense would want to make sure that guy left. Wish we could have seen some of that discussion. Did Coach state during tribal council that the Amazon Kidnap further involved "eating of his ass"? I think he actually said "asshole", but yes, yes he did. That man is a nut. |

It wasn't a huge scene or anything, but it was definitely memorable and they discussed having two options. We heard them both be a little weary of Brendan because of his seemingly ridiculous statement. In the end, I think everything else was left out to create suspense going into tribal. |

With Brendan's demise, Sierra now IS the Exile Alliance.
Remember last season some of us were saying that too much time and energy had been invested in Kota for it to go to waste? Same thing applies here. If Sierra doesn't win (Stephen is by far the front-runner) she will certainly go very far into the game. And she will certainly outlast Coach/Tyson. And it looks like Beangate was mostly about Coach not being predictable, after all, as Brendan found to his cost. |

Poor Debbie. She doesn't deserve the Susie edit. She is clearly way more quirky/funny/cool/interesting and I hope she will get above a 2 visibility
before the finale (assuming she lasts that long.)

And there are Drake/Timbira similarities. You had the hero everyone loves (Rupert/Brendan) and the villain everyone hates (Jon/Coach). Sandra in between got airtime matching with them while Erinn didn't.

I think JT is about to make a game losing error this week when they save Siera & toss out Tyson when he doesnt win immunity.
Although getting rid of Tyson ASAP is a good move for most, it actually hurts JT. Getting ride of Sierra next would give JT a perfect 4 alliance to pagong Coach/Tyson/Deb. No chance for his alliance to get rid of him to final 4, at least. Keeping Sierra gives Stephen & Taj another vote to oust JT before then. I think Stephens, & even Erinn & Tajs chances of winning just went up alot. JT or Stephen are still my winnner picks, but JT is looking too good to keep around.

I think JT is about to make a game losing error this week when they save Siera & toss out Tyson when he doesnt win immunity. You're kidding, right? Getting rid of Tyson would be the best thing possible. Sierra and Erinn are perfect goats. I don't think that Sierra is going to be a target at all as a matter of fact. I think that Coach will be willing to "hold Sierra's hand" and allow her to join his royal magestry to slay the next dragon, er, wizard Stephen or JT. Tyson already said that Sierra is not smart enough to make a move. I thought she'd be the target but it will probably change at the last minute. Coach/Tyson's new target will be either JT or Stephen. Sierra will run to Stephen/JT and try to rekindle the remnants of the EA. She'll inform them of the new plan and they turn their attention to Tyson, who will be COMPLETELY dumfounded. Tyson/Coach/Deb will think that Jalapao will be targeting Sierra. Meanwhile, Coach/Tyson/Deb will want to surprise a member of Jalapao. I'm thinking next episode will be somewhat like the episode of S2 where Jerri gets booted. Last minute scurrying just before TC to target Tyson. |

The unecessary focus on JT saying he can count on Erinn to join him and Stephen and Taj
(and shots of all 4) probably hints that all 4 work together and probably go to at least the F5.
