The AI people are going to snap up Adam regardless of whether or not he wins so Allison might as well so she can get a deal too. Adam doesn't need to win,
he deserves it and I will be happy if he does, but I'm sure Adam won't be at all upset to come 2nd or 3rd or even go next week because he'll be
snatched up in no time and he'll be a star.

I have no illusion that Allison will win. I'm fine with that. In fact, I'd rather she finish in 2nd to Adam. The outrage(!!!1!) if anyone beat Adam I
think would be pretty great and whoever that person is might suffer some sort of negative backlash/publicity. Whether you like Adam or not, it's clear
he's got this in the bag. Allison coming in 2nd to Adam would be a great thing for her.

I agree with that. The only problem I'd have with an Adam/Allison final 2 is that both are so great I'd have a problem with either of them being
declared a loser.

From TV Grapevine (the only part I have a problem with is where he calls Gokey awesome):
American Idol: Allison Iraheta Pure Platinum Written by TheScribe Thursday, 09 April 2009 11:56 American Idol has uncovered another super star and it is not Adam Lambert. Now before you load your guns and take aim please notice I said 'another'. Adam Lambert is most certainly going to be declared this year's American Idol, but he will not be the the pure platinum chart leader that Allison Iraheta will become. Yes Adam Lambert will be huge, there is no doubt the man has experienced talent exceeding that of all others on American Idol this season. Adam will do very well for himself and his recording label. However the real story of this year's American Idol will eventually turn out to be Allison Iraheta the sixteen year old with the distinctive golden voice that is recognizable on it's first note. Mark my words, Allison will rival all other Idol successes that have come before her. Maybe it is the twinkle in eyes of all the American Idol judges when she sings, it is like they see the cash register totaling up the dollar signs every time she performs. Maybe it is the pure raw talent, maybe it is Allison's maturity beyond her years, I don't know for sure exactly what it is, but one thing I know for sure is Allison Iraheta is destined for recording stardom. Simon pointed out Allison had to open up and let the fans know who she really was. That is the kind of advice which comes from Simon when he knows he has a money maker on his hands. It will be interesting to see how American Idol ends up this season. Adam will finish first and become American Idol, there isn't much doubt about that. Where it gets interesting is who will take second place. Dan Gokey is awesome, but is he ever going to be the recording artist that sells millions? The same can be said for Matt Giraud. The dark horse in this race is Kris Allen. It seems to me that Kris Allen could bust out at any time, however even if he does bust out, will he have the market ability of Allison Iherta? That is a tough Call, Kris Allen, Allison Iraheta and Adam Lambert are ones with the potential to sell mega amounts of tunes. Stay tuned to American Idol in the coming weeks to see how it turns out. |

I tend to agree with him as it's pretty much how I feel (except the Danny part). The first time I heard Allison was when they showed a brief clip of
"Because of You" before she made the top 36 and I really liked her then. I was surprised that noone had started a thread for her, so I was happy to
do so since us west coasters never get much of a chance. I'm happy that I got to start a thread for the person who has ended up being my favorite this
year. I cannot wait for her CD (she will have one I'm sure!), and I'm glad that she's getting positive press and a positive shift of momentum. This
is good stuff. And if she outlasted Danny, that would be icing on the cake!

Allison is just a fun person to root for. She is different. She is original. And I dont care what Simon says. She has more personality than almost anyone else
on this show.
I dont think she will win. I am just hoping to see her go as far as possible. I would love to see her at the finale. But I am fine with final 3 as well. I have no doubt in my mind she is one of the few people who will get success after the show is over. She has a beautiful voice. Her song last week had more emotion in it than I have heard in a song in a long time. Adam does have this thing locked up. But I am still enjoying Allison every minute she is on. |

I agree with all that, Paris <3 i'd really just love to see Allison make final 3, and she makes the finale, i'd be ecstatic. To me she's been
the most consistant overall performer this season, and as long as we get more performances from her, then that's awesome. Keep goin', Allison <333

I actually am going to put my money on the dark horse. I would not be surprised AT ALL if Allison began gaining the votes of the ones that fall away,
especially Anoop and Matt. I have nothing against either of those two, but do not see them lasting long. Anoop had steam behind him, but somehow managed to
put a hole in the container and it seems to be leaking. Matt just does not connect with ENOUGH people. Allison is a woman and I think that, as unfair as it
may be, will keep people voting for her heavily.
Once it gets to the end, I believe people will be a bit sick of even Adam. The one that many of the old hnds suddenly realize they like could easily become the "surprise" winner. |

I can see her making it to the top 3 because her fanbase is growing week after week. If she continues to give wow performances, I can see her making it to the
finals, beating Danny Gokey (

Does anybody think Simon is maturing and becoming more sensitive?
I thought he was really appropriate, sensitive, and unpatronizing toward Scott throughout. And any other year than this one, he'd be telling Allison to lose weight. |

They all used kid gloves with Scott, it was so ridiculous.
Simon isn't all that mature and sensitive toward Allison, he keeps calling her precocious and then saying she has no personality blah blah blah for no reason. He's still being ridiculous unfair to her. Also I don't think Simon would dare tell someone like Allison they need to loose weight. The audience would riot. |

Just like Kate and Dicko's comments about her arms! I think that was the reason she won! It could definitely be Allison's turning point.

I would Allison to come in second but the judges near the end will have to more clearly distance themselves from Gokey (they still praise his sh*t) and Simon
has to become less critical of Allison. I do fear that the Bible thumpers will keep Gokey in this to the Final 2.

A lot of smart opinions in this thread. Allison fans are quite brilliant! <3
Anyways, I actually do not think Adam has it locked up. How often does the outright favorite from the beginning win? Almost never.(Daughtry, Archuleta, Melinda, etc.) I think Allison could pull it off. <3 |

I'm still being realistic. If Allison finishes 2nd, I'd be grateful. I don't think she has enough firepower to derail the incredible hype train
that is Adam Lambert, who is brilliant and a deserved winner, by general consensus. However, I do think she's getting enough recognition to the point that
she could be the monkey wrench in Simon's dream of a Adam-Danny F2. Danny isn't really getting that much attention, if you notice. Most of the
water-cooler opinions about Idol are always based on how fantastic Madam is and how Allison is poised to Kim-Locke the competition.
The next few weeks are going to be a real test for us because once Allison has an off night, she's inevitably going to slip into the Bottom 3. Here's to more teeth-biting and tense Wednesday nights! |
