Yep, it ended up getting about 10 million viewers, which is pretty damn good since the pilot has been online for almost two weeks.

By NBC standards, that's a huge hit. It actually got a higher demo rating than Harper's Island.
Definite renewal. |

That was quite good. It would obviously work better on cable, but still a solid show.

I enjoyed this show as well. I decided to watch this over Harper's Island and I was not disappointed.

This show is nowhere near Boomtown. It's like they filmed 9 hours and had to cut out enough to get it down to 43 minutes. What was the deal with the ants?

When she saw the ants at her mom's house, her mom told her it was because of the dead cockroaches, so I think that's how she knew that the ants at the
apartment might be leading to the little girl's body.

Looks like NBC wants its own version of The Shield. It has that feel with the quick scenes and the jerky cam, but it has a long way to go to get up to that level. Still not a bad first episode and I'll be back next week. |

I liked it. I thought the young partner who was being schooled by the veteran gay cop was a cop version of John Carter on ER. I got the feel that this show
is kind of a cop version of ER.

Well, it is from the executive producer OF ER, so...

Oh man. I watched that cheesy and craptastic Harper's Island, but I kind of wish I watched this instead. Esp. if the ratings don't spell immediate
failure.

Is this a procedural or serialized?

I watched the first 15 minutes and switched the channel - I purposely don't watch movies like The Departed on TV, because I hate the beeping or the voice
overs. I always hate the premieres since they usually are awkward with trying to introduce everyone to the audience. I'll try it next week......I hated
Friends when it first started.
And I apologize for comparing it to Boomtown - my bad....... |

Me likey, me likey lots.
I just wish they gave the macho gay cop a better back story than going to a gay bar - I think it would have been unique to have him go home to his husband after a bad day, rather than going into a gay bar where he's going to hook up with that gay guy who got arrested. Didn't we see that exact same storyline in The Shield with Julian and his hustler? For me, that was the only clunky note. And, okay, the fact that the older asshole cop got shot was also telegraphed pretty clearly... and one more thing, when the black detective got hit in the head and then just got up and arrested the guy...what was that about? That was just bizarre, like they needed a way to cut away to a commercial with a cliffhanger to get the audience to stay tuned. Overall, though, I like this show and will keep watching. But just once, I'd like the show's writers to come up with their own story lines! |

I agree with Starr on all points and will add about the black detective a huge WTF about her going there alone without backup and she was knocked out and had a
loss of consciousness for who knows how long and she just does her business and goes home?
I really like the show. The first ep had so much going on, we still don't know much about most of the characters on the show, so it will be interesting seeing how each character is developed. So far this is a great replacement for ER to fill my 10-11 slot on Thursday nights. It just sucks knowing that that asshole Leno is going to be filling the 10-11 time slots in a few months and NBC will lose me as a viewer for that hour every night. |

Law & Order is a procedural. This one is probably going to be more serialized.

I wish that Kevin Alejandro was the gay one rather than Cudlitz. Kevin Alejandro has been ridiculously sexy in other things ("DRIVE", in particular),
though not so much here...

Think of it as a network version of The Shield.

It was okay. I'll definitely tune in next week. Calling it the network version of THE SHIELD isn't even close (even if the camera work is
reminiscent, you can find that on FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS). It's a cop version of ER.
