Would they cancel tribal council, or just go through the motions of giving him some sort of fallen warrior send off? Doesn't Probst still need to ask his tribal council questions about the merge? (Will trust be important?) They skipped tribal council whem Skupin fell in the fire, right, but that was pretty shocking and unanticipated. Have they done it for wounds that have been festering for days?

This part of the promo voice over is telling:

Announcer: And one courageous castaway....

Joe: I want to stay in the game.

Announcer: May be forced to leave...

Joe <talking to medics>: I want ya'll to tell me "if you don't go home right now you're going to lose the leg".

I can't remember a time when the promos show someone at risk for being taken put of the game for a medical condition and that person ended up staying. Basically, it will be the same as with Penner. The female medic will tell Joe that if he stays in the game he is at risk of losing his leg and he will be forced to leave. Since this is the merge episode, Probst doesn't see the contestants till the Immunity Challenge. No doubt because of the pain from the leg, Joe won't last very long in the IC, After the IC is over, Probst will have production summon medical to have a look at the leg. He will be taken out and the episode will end without a Tribal Council. Since Joe will not get out of the hospital in time for the next Tribal Council, he can't serve on the jury (at least James was able to walk) and production will switch it from a Final 3 to a Final 2. The Final 4 reward challenge (like the one that they had in China) will be converted to an Immunity Challenge to account for the additional elimination.

This week will be boring. For much of the episode, Dragon Slayer Coach (with Tyson doing the dirty work) will be arranging to blindside Brendan. In the next episode, former Jalapao members will make sure that Brendan is made aware that his original tribe members were plotting to blindside him. Brendan will throw his hat in with the cross-tribal alliance and together with JT, they will probably take out Tyson next.

Not going to happen. You can tell from the promo that medical wants to remove Joe. I know that medical wanted Chet to quit but it wasn't shown because it had no bearing on the outcome. I would expect that the same would be true for Joe if his torch was going to be snuffed. When Penner left, Probst said that the it is up to the contestant whether or not he/she wants to remain in the game except that the medical dept. has the authority to remove contestants from the game whenever they deem that the risk is too great. Besides, Probst said in an interview that one contestant will be removed because of a medical condition. It will be good to get it over with now so that it won't interrupt what hopefully will be a good stretch of blindsides. We've already had 3 fake idol plays that would be more entertaining than this one would be.
