So I'm out of the country for a week and someone kidnaps all the talent on this show? That was horrible.

Ugh hate both the riffing and the excessive falsetto. Thanks, Paula.

It would have been cooler if he were playing a Keytar. |

I kinda liked it. But I love that song. He's screwed this week I think.

Matt sucked balls tonight. Damn, I sure hope Adam saves this night for me. |

The judges weren't even watching him.
I didn't like it. |

Adam and Kris don't have to do much at all tonight to still kick this bunch's ass.

I like The Fray. They will probably never release their songs for Idol again after that.

Oh...no....
This is not good. Matt's getting reamed the week after he hit bottom 3. We don't need him to leave yet. So the best of the night so far are Danny and Scott. I can't believe I just said that. |

Matt Giraud.
You Found Me by The Fray He misses the first couple of notes, some badly, as he stands in front of a keyboard. But he quickly rights himself and brings the Fray sound to the mic, with the attitude that goes with it. He gets the audience on his side as he goes quiet for the words "lost and insecure" and quickly goes back to the energetic, backbeat-driven melody of the title line. And when he just lets the title line go, and takes it up, I'm thinking this is about as good as Matt is going to get this season. Not bad, just not quite in the top echelon. A 7. Poler: I appreciate you went for a contemporary song, but you aborted the things we love about you. Your riffing, the falsetto that you love. It became more of a soundalike, like when you sang that Coldplay song. Sorry, this wasn't a great performance. Audience: BOOOOOOOO!!!! Simon: You should be happy. We don't like you this week. I didn't get it. It felt very put-on, up-tight, not a good commercial song. You can frown all you like, you're becoming all these different people trying to stay in the competition. I think if you had done something like Danny, just choose a great song, you would have had a better shot. Randy: More Justin Timberlake. More One Republic. Simon: Apologize! Randy: That would be you. You got a lot of soul in your voice. You got that, you gotta let it out. Kara: At some point you have to commit, soul or pop. I believe you're a talented guy. You don't deserve to go home. Audience: YY!!! |
