ITYS (feat. Randy) is #3 ITYS is #61 JTTW is #68 So Small is #21 Country. BHC is #35 Pop... incredible. oldest song in the top 50 |

I just downloaded Adam's "Tracks of my %**%#" studio recording and while it is a lovely recording, I can't stand the fact that the Idols had
to record the original Motown version of the song. I wanted to hear Adam's version of the song and not the original version.

Yeah, why would they make him record something closer to the original for TOMT when they let him do his version of Ring of Fire last week? Though it is nice
that Allison's Papa Was a Rolling Stone is almost five minutes long.

I'm assuming they were trying to honour Motown or some shit by having them record the original versions. Apparently Motown artists are important enough to
honour but you can do whatever you want to Country songs.
Either that or they recorded the studio versions early this time before people had a chance to work with their songs/Smokey. |

Nice that Adam's recording didn't have the heterosexual lyrics of the original. Not like they changed it up to make it explicit he's singing about
a boy, but at least he didn't have to pretend to like girls.

I wonder if they used the Motown backing tracks because they didn't have enough studio time; the trip to Detroit used up a whole day. I don't remember
if they traveled for Opry week or not.

I don't love the original recordings as the backing music.
Matt's voice still sounds great though. Megan's voice is just awesome. Her recordings are just so awesome to listen to. The recording is somewhat overwhelming though. The backing vocals don't jive with Megan's voice. Anyway I need her CD now. Again the recording is overwhelming on Anoop's. His voice sounds great but I'd like to be able to hear it better. Love him. Of course having the original recording for Adam's sucks. Voice sounds great but his version was awesome. Also I agree I like how in Adam's studio recording the lyrics have been changed to be ambiguous and not she etc. It's more natural. It'd be fake for him to being singing about a girl when she clearly loves penis. I'm not even going to pretend I care about anyone else's studio version.
