Missed Hokey's performance. I was taking a crap. I'm sure it sounded better than what he produced.

1. Allison - especially loved the way she improv'd the in between lines "never heard nothing but bad things about him" etc. soo musical. Gap 2. Danny 3. Adam Gap - sorry, so many bad performances tonight. 4. Anoop - not bad. 5. Kris - Mediocre vocally, but at least he has charisma, which put him ahead of a lot of people. 6. Lil - just not that good. Her voice is paper thin for a diva singer type. 7. Matt - no charisma whatsoever. I just can't stand him. 8. Meghan - yeah, the song didn't suit her voice. She has no idea how to use that quirky voice of hers correctly. 9. Michael - I like the guy. But the voice is so weak. 10. Scott - terrible and flat the whole way. I hate his voice.

1. Allison -- the pimp spot and some praise from the judges. Are they finally coming to their senses about her? This is probably my favorite performance of
hers to date.
2. Adam -- no secret I can't stand him most of the time, but that was a fine performance. 3. Anoop -- vocally his best by a mile. huge gap 4. Matt -- derivative and too breathy. 5. Kris -- he "made it his own"? I don't think so. It's an over covered song, and he just did a blend of the Marvin/James Taylor versions. If he really wanted to change it up, he should have covered Joan Osborne's minor key version. 6. Gokey -- Should've listened to Smokey. And he needs to stop pointing at the audience when he sings. 7. Lil -- I'm no fan of hers, but I was surprised at how blah this was. She really can't sing without shouting. The rest are a tie for last: Sarver -- Most amateurish performance to date. Megan -- She sounded better with the flu. I really like her and her voice, but this was awful -- off key, awkward, you name it. Scott -- it's patronizing to keep him on the show at this point. Great
Good 1. Anoop- his falsetto is a lot easier to take than Adam's. He deserves to be in the top 4. 2. Allison- almost as good as David Hernandez's untoppable version. 3. Lil- her best yet (Motown night, duh..), though hardly great. And she's trying to look like Jennifer Hudson! Okay 4. Michael- I liked the arrangement. Lost points for shouting at the end and his goofy, inappropriate smile. 5. Adam- technically well sung, but simply too high to be actually pleasant to listen to; still, a huge improvement over last week. Mediocre 6. Kris- Meh. Major comedown from last week's best of the group performance. 7. Danny- the best moment was the Temptations arm-weave with the background singers. As blue-eyed soul goes, he's as good as Scott Savol. NOT Elliot Yamin. The judges are slowly beginning to realize just how mediocre he is. 8. Scott- His best performance so far, and STILL not good. Nice arrangement and piano playing, but he simply doesn't have a good singing voice. 9. Matt- atonal. (BIG GAP) Beyond Trainwreck, Beyond Sanjaya, there lies.... 10. Megan- her 5th consecutive wretched performance, giving Corey Clark a run for his money as the worst Idol finalist ever. Gone: Michael; B2: Megan (yes, the order should be reversed); B3: ??? could be Kris, Matt or Scott [in decreasing order of likelihood]. The unpimped ones will all be gone soon... |
