Clearly Kate has become much more comfortable on her own. She is making a point of showing people she can take her kids places and do so just fine without Jon and it seems she is more relaxed without him. And frumpy Kate is a thing of the past.
Jon looked like one of those bobble head dogs each time Kate said something and he tried to be all agreeable. And she just did not look at all interested in playing along.
She is being honest in saying that this is the best time she has had and she does not want it to stop. I guess if you can get over the invasion of privacy then the rest is simple. She doesn't seem easily offended and I am sure she is laughing at the people who mock her while she is sitting in her mini-mansion. Hopefully the damage they may or may not be happening to her kids is worth it.
Jon has become obsolete and he knows it. He knows the show will go on as long as the kids and Kate are there. And his comment that he cannot go out and be "Jon" is ridiculous. No one cares if he goes out and has some down time. But you are far too old to hang out with college students and there is no reason to find that acceptable.
I thought it was funny when Kate referred to coming back for another season. I remember back when she was still attempting to feign interest in her husband and she said she did not like the fact her referred to the show as a season and she just wanted it to be their life and not a season.
There is no denying that Kate is a shrew. She seeks to control her family and make them into her idea of ideal since she did not have that type of childhood. Not that I know how she was raised, but she never seems to talk about fun family memories or experiences and that is why she seems to have this insatiable desire to have all these things for her children.
But with that said, there have been many times where Jon was just as ass. He seemed to like to talk down to her. Kate has no style, no decorating ability, is not athletic, directionally challenged, etc., etc. Jon has gotten many jabs in even at times when it did not seem called for.
I think that it is more than likely this family is going to fall apart. Can't wait to see the show TLC builds around that. The next wave of TLC shows will be on single parenting.
