They are ruining this just like 90210. Just give it another name and be done with it if none of the true characters are coming back.

The characters of Samantha, Taylor, and Coop depart from the series by the season final, with Taylor, who gives birth to Michael's child and agrees to share mothering duties with the returning Jane. But Taylor reconsiders and goes back to Boston, keeping the baby for herself.

I actually like Ashlee
Simpson... I thought she was great on 7th Heaven and deserves a fair chance on Melrose Place!

You'd think they'd want to do something to draw in some of those original "Melrose" fans, and I don't think just calling the show "Melrose Place" and having it set in the same building will be enough to do that. And let's face it, what do you think the odds are that the building will look anything like the original? My guess is that it will look completely different, and if they give an explanation at all it will just be that the building was remodeled a few years ago or something. Maybe they could bring back Lexi? She was one of the bigger characters towards the end of the shows run, and didn't she actually own the building when the series ended? Jamie Luner's joining the cast of "All My Children" this summer, but maybe they could still give her some cameos as the landlord to the new tenants, or one of the new characters could get a job working at the agency she started during the last season (the one that put Amanda out-of-business). I still think the no-brainer here would be to bring back Thomas Calabro as Michael. He was a staple of the original "Melrose" and the only character to appear in every single episode. I'm actually very surprised that I haven't even seen any rumors about the possibility of them bringing him back. |

Stephanie Jacobsen checks into Melrose Place
from Korbi at zap2it.com Meet Lauren, the med student who moonlights as a call girl: They could have Michael back now that we have a med student. The only way I see Lisa Rinna (Taylor) returning is if Thomas returns as well. Maybe Michael & Taylor got married. Otherwise Taylor would have no connections to the new cast. |

I've heard NOTHING about Bissett coming back. Anybody know if there's any truth to this? |

They spelled Jane wrong so it's probably fake. At least I hope so. I hated Jane with a burning passion. Team Sydney all the way <3

If I recall correctly, she married Craig and was exiting the church when she was run down and killed by Samantha and her crazy dad.
You know, a typical Melrose Place death. |

Was looking around online and saw this tidbit posted on a message board back on February 7th:
I am glad that for continuity, Jake's son will be featured. I can also tell you Thomas Calabro HAS been approached to revive the character of Michael. Although not confirmed, It was featured on E! last night as gossip in their entertainment segment. He will probably own the complex or be in charge at the hospital. Watch this space. I also found a podcast interview with Calabro from February 19th. He spends about half the interview talking about his experience on the original "Melrose", and the other half talking about a play he's in called "It's Just Sex" that's supposedly pretty raunchy, ironically playing at a theater on Melrose Ave in Los Angeles. He doesn't mention anything about the new MP, but from the way he talks about his time on the original show, plus how he talks about how he loves acting and is continuing to look for roles, it definitely sounds like he'd come back if they offered. ETA: Also found something else of interest on the wiki page for the new series: According to the national enquirer, Marcia Cross is in talks to play Kimberly Shaw in a three episode Arc.I know the fact that this only seems to be reported on wikipedia, and that the only source they give is the National Enquirer, means this is in all likelihood fake. But still, I'd like to see how they pull this one off. It would be great to see crazy Kimberly again, but she had a pretty definitive death last time around. Michael kissed her body as it lay in a coffin, for Christ's sake. If this does turn out to be true, then LOL at Heather Locklear turning down the new show since there was no way to bring Amanda back that made sense.

Would ABC even let Marica guest star on the CW? I think it's just wishful thinking. I doubt Marcia would even agree since her husband has cancer and she
has little kids now.

I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but this is gonna suck. And not kind of suck. This is going to totally and completely suck mule nuts. And not "This
sucks so bad I can't stop watching it" way. It's going to be bad.
Can't you see the horror that is 90210.2? The only way a new Melrose would not suck is if...actually I can't think of an instance where it would be good |

If no one from the cast comes back, this show should just not even debut. Is Thomas Calabro (sp) the only one who hasnt given a definite answer? He's the
last hope

Of all the characters who I could see them trying to get back, there are several who as far as I know haven't said anything about whether they'd come
back or not.
Thomas Calabro - supposedly offered Heather Locklear - NO Courtney Thorne-Smith - would consider it if offered Grant Show - Probably not, but maybe Kelly Rutherford - maybe for a guest spot if "the price is right" and depending on the script Lisa Rinna - YES (and willing to beg for it) Josie Bissett - maybe? Marcia Cross - maybe? Jennie Garth - NO (Although I'm not sure why they'd even ask her. Sure she kicked off the original show, but you'd think they'd focus on trying to bring back somebody who was actually a part of the original MP cast) I haven't heard anything about anybody else. And let's not forget that the guy who's directing this new "Melrose Place" is the brother-in-law of Andrew Shue, so they might be able to snag him back at least for a few episodes.
