I still haven't finished the new Wally Lamb. It has hit me a lot harder than I ever thought it would. But - I need to get back into it. I just read the Diamond of Darkhold. It's the 4th book in the series that started with City of Ember. They are kid books but really well written.

I just picked up the first one, feeling like I needed to learn more about WWII, and OH MY GOD its so boring I want to stab my eyes out. Does it get any better? If not, can anyone recommend a good book (or series of books) on WWII that would give me a good basic education on it? tia.

But I will check it out. I keep trying to read this Churchill book, thinking, jeez, there is so much interesting stuff about WWII, how can it possibly be so boring! Most of my research into WWII has been on the nuke bomb and the US side of things, so it will be interesting to learn about different stuff.
