She only died 4 weeks before he went on Idol so what he left the church for 2 weeks and then was like fuck this I'm going back. He probably just took time
away from his job at the church right after she died to grieve and practice for his time on AI.

I just can't see why Simon would pimp this guy at all as much as he hated Taylor Hicks. I dvr the show now and forward through most of it so I didn't
know Pauler and the other one were all over him. I also forwarded through most of JTTW, it was horrific. It is nice to feel some good hatred this year, it just
isn't AI without it. I tried last year with the poor retarded child but my heart just wasn't in it.

Sarver maybe but people who like Scott might be into his apparent artistry and piano and stuff so I don't see them being inclined to switch to Gokey, probably Adam, Megan or Matt.I think Scott gets more sympathy votes than votes for his alleged artistry, and I would bet that people inclined to give sympathy votes might find the Gokester appealing. |

Right now, Simon's reaction to Gokey is similar to his reaction to Taylor at this early stage of the competition - he praised the singing when it was due,
but he hammered the dancing and the spastic tics. Wait until the season boils onward as Simon can no longer contain his disgust for Gokey the same way he
loathed Taylor.
Bonus points if Gokey is against Simon's pet, the way Taylor was against Katharine. |

I find it extremely hard to believe that Danny appeals to middle-of-the-road "everyday" voters - the people who voted for Kelly Clarkson and Carrie and Taylor and David Cook. Obviously bible thumpers are going to go nuts over him, but the tweens and soccer moms? Do they really support him over Adam, Lil, Kris, et al? Or are the bible thumpers just voting in such huge numbers that everyone else's votes don't amount to much? I don't know about the tweens, but a lot of the soccer moms are lapping that sob story up. It's because the hausfraus would like to think that their deaths might shatter the lives of their husbands instead of prompting the weeks of celebration
which would occur in actuality. Also, some hausfraus would like to fantasize that they could be the new Sophia. Sure, Danny is fat and repulsive, but compared
to their current hubbys he's a downright dreamboat.
