I originally thought the same as you....when the plane pulled up from a rainy night, to a sunny day...it very well could have travelled to the year 2000, instead of "present" day 2007/8. But then, Lost wouldnt round off numbers like that :P If it was 28 years earlier, they'd say "28 years earlier"...they said "3 years earlier"...not round it off to "5 years earlier" Time is so confusing to the audience already, they wouldnt fudge around like that. So when they cut from the 316 wreckage and say "30 years earlier"...and its 1977...we need to assume they are in 2007, no? Lost made a point for 4 seasons never to let us in on the time differences. Now they are specifically telling us. I gotta assume they arent lying to us :P

But they clearly showed us something blowing out in a specific part of the trees at the dock (like the smoke monster used to do) We then see Christian appear in a cabin (i doubt he has been living there for years :P) While Christian is talking we see dust and wind surround everything. It appears they are trying to make us think that the arrival and appearance of Christian is via the smoke monster some how? Or at least something similar?

They certainly werent in the 1940's on the island :P So its a big leap to assume, that just because the plane picked up a pre 1988 radio transmission when it is 2007...somehow the past must have changed dramatically. Isnt it?

For the life of me I can't remember. Sawyer and Juliet save Amy from the others and kill two hostiles. They bury the two to protect the peace agreement. Then Jin carries Amy's dead husband to DI. Amy tricks them at the sonic fence and when they wake up, Horras (who loves Amy) is greatful for them saving her. He agrees they can stay till the next sub to look for the rest of their "crew" from the shipwreck (Sawyer's story) but they can't stay because they are "not Dharma material." Then Richard shows up looking for his two missing people. Sawyer asks Horras if he can talk to the man in the "eyeliner" and tells Richard that He killed the hostiles not the DI people and so the peace agreement wasn't broken. Horras is impressed and let's them stay.

I wonder if Danielle's crew were like Christian, in that maybe they died in the smoke monster's hole and were dead like Christian. She thought they were sick because they weren't normal and during one flash we see one of her crew members try to kill her.

Posts: 607 (03/20/09 9:22 PM) Registered user Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	As far as run-down docks/recruitment center in 2007 making a case that the past has changed: If you look at the first Episode of Season 3, it clearly shows the Dharma Barracks (the Otherville houses) being in the middle of the island, far from the docks and the Dharma recruitment center buildings. We have never seen the Recruitment center buildings in any episode post Dharma Purge, until "Namaste" The only time we saw the Recruitment center buildings were in the episode where young Ben and his dad come to the island, and this last episode where the 06 enter 1977 Dharma. We do see the docks in many episodes post Dharma purge, like when Juliet takes a submarine ride and joins "The Others", but we never see the buildings. The only Dharma buildings we see post Purge are the hatches and the Barracks (homes). As well as the rec room (pool table)...but thats with the Barracks. Some people might mistake it for being near the recruitment buildings by the docks, it isnt. So, Im betting "The Others", post Dharma Purge, left that dock/recruitment center place just go to waste...they didnt need it. Thats why in 2007, it looks like a ghost town. Has been that way since the Purge. Not because the past was changed from what we know...

And in this case, yes, you can hear the monster's cab-receipt-clicky sounds when the bushes rustle. Also, regarding the idea that the processing center is near the dock and separate from Otherville, I do not believe this is the case. a) there are at least three other buildings shown around the processing center, both in the past and in the present. b) the photo is almost certainly taken in Otherville, based on the numerous houses visible in the scene. c) Chang asks Jack who his shuttle driver was. d) Ben tells Sun about Otherville, implying Sun should choose the town proper as a destination.

Lostpedia gauges Otherville to be about 1 mile across based on a Dharma cabling map, so even if there's a lagoon right next to the crater that's not visible you're talking about a submarine capable dock being at least 4 miles away. Not really a short walk. Also from Lostpedia: While the precise location of the Processing Center has not been stated in canon, examination of screencaps from "The Man from Tallahassee", "The Man Behind the Curtain" and "Namaste" show at least three distinct docks on the Island, Pala Ferry dock, the Harbour and Warf dock and a different dock next to the Processing Center. Evidence from "The Man from Tallahassee" points to the Harbour dock location next to the http://gallery.lost-media...s/1/twocitiescap-0089.jp href="http://gallery.lost-media.com/albums/ep-caps/season3/3x01-cities/1/twocitiescap-0089.jp" rel=nofollow>landlocked valley where the Barracks is located, based on the short walk Locke and Alex took there before Locke blew up the sub. This is likely the dock where Juliet arrived in "One of Us". It also has a http://gallery.lost-media.../3/talahassee-cap738.jpg href="http://gallery.lost-media.com/albums/ep-caps/season3/3x13-talahassee/3/talahassee-cap738.jpg" rel=nofollow>covered bench at the top of the dock which is not found on the other dock. The sub was also shown parked near a different dock, in "The Man Behind the Curtain", when it was used to transport the new recruits to the Island, notably a young Ben and his father. This dock differs in both the lack of bench seating, and the addition of white picket wood fencing that runs the last quarter or so of the dock on the land side. When Frank and Sun walk to the end of the dock, this fencing is seen in disarray, partially knocked over. ("Namaste") This evidence suggests this dock was used to dock the sub when new recruits were arriving at the Island under DHARMA to induct them at the Processing Center, while the more convenient Harbour dock was used by the Others for trips to and from the Barracks.
