I liked it. The best scene was Adama puking all over himself.

Oh yeah did anyone catch the preview for Battlestar Galactica: The Plan?
I'm curious to see if that's just a miniseries or another complete spinoff altogether ala Caprica. |

The Plan is a one night movie.

I thought the Plan was just a standalone 2 hour movie showing us the Cylon perspective alongside the show's events from the first few seasons.
The Plan storyline begins before the attack on the 12 colonies and will show events mainly from the perspective of two Cylon agents. I'm curious about Caprica though... with it being released on DVD and all. Does this bode well for the show? They're still going to be airing it on TV, right? So it just seems very weird that they would release it on DVD beforehand. To me that seems to indicate that it's going to suck.. just like direct to DVD movies. But I guess since it's only the pilot it may attract more attention from potential viewers and whet their appetite...

I would have loved to see Kara enter the same numbers as they used for LOST for the jump coordinates.
That would have blew my mind. |

I don't like how they handled Starbuck. It's like they had no idea what to do with her so just blink her out. I agree with Katie Sackhoff that it
just was not a good ending for her.
So do we still think the dieing leader was not only Roslin, but Galactica itself? |

I'm with Gregoire. 70/30 on this. Loved the battle. Liked finding Earth at it's human beginnings. Hated all the flashbacks. Adama puking was the type
of indulgent tripe you see in European arthouse movie crap. Starbuck was lame from beginning to end. The angel thing was kinda lame, especially as someone
said, with Six and Baltar dressed as hipster lounge doofuses.
Liked that the real Six and Baltar were meant for each other and was resolved nicely. Adama becoming Grizzly Adams kinda doesn't make sense. He should have went with Tigh or Lee and watch his offspring grow. Cavel's ego blew his brains out. He wasn't going to be killed/defeated by the humans/O5/cylons. That's all for now. Overall I liked it. |

Yes it was Angel Baltar and Six.
I don't get the complaints of "OMFG THEY WERE MAKING IT UP ALL ALONG!!1!" Umm... NO show has a detailed plan that stretches out this much. Of course things come up along the way. We even KNEW that the F5 were a late development. Moore said very plainly back in S3/4 that the idea of the F5 came up because they had to think of a reason why Baltar wouldn't come across the unkown models when they moved him to the baseship after the exodus from New Caprica. That's when they came up with the idea of the F5 but still leaving the IDs up in the air for when it was needed which was happened at the end of S3. Jeebus you act like it's a crime to NOT come up with a detailed outline for an entire series when you write the pilot eppie. They did a great job of tying things up and even tying things to key stuff from very early on (ie the Opera House) and even toyed with continuing the cycle when the 5 offered Cavil the power of resurrection only to have fall apart in a brilliant and brutal way. Cavil axed himself because he knew he was going to die in the firefight and wanted to go out on his terms. Kara being an angel was a nice bittersweet touch. Also loved Roslin thanking Cottle. Cottle & Hoshi being part of the survey group on NuEarth was also a nice touch. |

I liked some of the flashbacks more than others.
Baltar/Six's was the most meaningful, followed oddly by Lee and the pigeon, which payed off better than I thought it would. Roslin, Adama, and Tigh I could have done without, and didn't add as much to the overall "feeling" of the end as the other two. |

CoconutPhone wrote:What is Babylon 5, Alex? The characters and actions that disappeared in B-5, as written years in advance, come back in a way that only a good writer like J. Michael Straczynski can write. The religious backstory and development of the Jeffrey Sinclair disappearing and the link to the story of the foundations of the Minbari religion were absolute genius examples of continuity. Mind blowingly well written. Opposed to the religious mumbo shite of BG being the weakest part of the series. Still think this is one the top ten series I've ever watched. |

It's the allusions to the the Opera House visions that have got my spine illuminating, too.
Moore couldn't have completely made this up as he went along (yet I still remain astounded that he 'fessed up to picking the F5 on camera) as the cohesion between the sequences was too crticial. He had to have planned on Hera and the Opera House being the key to the epic pretty much from day one. When he contrasted the five on the bridge of Galactica and the glowing five figures in the balcony of the Opera House, my brain did a happy dance. Coolest moment of the finale in a finale packed with cool moments. 2nd coolest moment came upon waking up, a "d'oh" moment: yup, Baltar and the baby-killing pre-Head 6 actually did die in the Caprica attacks as has been continuously shown each and every ep in the opening credits. Them being angels along with Starbuck ties things up very nicely. Overall coolest thing is that despite the fleet dispersing unto the wilds of prehistoric Earth, the whole Peter Pan "this has happened before and will happen again" thing is still in play. I for one am never ever ever going to buy a robot -- no Sony Aibo, no nothin'. In fact, I was cleaning at my cat's automatic litter machine this morning and found myself feeling vaguely suspicious about its motives. |

That's my understanding. I'm pretty sure Baltar survived the pilot movie blast and was then seeing a Six Angel. Caprica Six would later see a Baltar
Angel. The real versions finally saw each other's angel in the finale and got the confirmation that they were figments of their imagination.

I love that HeadSix saying she was an "angel" turned out to be true.
