I don't see why people are straight to assume Stephen won't give the idol back to Taj. I think if Jalapao goes to tribal council next round, and Taj think she's going, she'll ask Stephen for the idol. Imagine what would happen if he didn't give it back to her. She's flip out and expose everything, which in turn would really decredit Stephen in the eyes of the rest of his tribe. At that point he doesn't even have the option of jumping to the other side from taking Taj out. Stephen's just all kinds of stuck in having to give Taj back the idol, he knows as much as he wants to keep it, he can't keep it until later on in the merge when the cross tribal alliance is already known/figured out.
