Posts: 218 (03/14/09 11:05 AM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	i don't understand why the youtube references opie and anthony...they didn't have anything to do with it, as far as i can tell. in trying to understand where this came from, i wiki'd it....this incident happened in 2004, but someone had been pulling similar 'pranks' for at least ten years before. they tracked down the call on this one, and traced it to a phone card bought at a walmart by a guy, in florida, that works for a company that supplies correction officers to prisons, and he was arrested and tried for it. unfortunately, the state couldn't prove that he was the one who actually made the call, just that the phone card used had been bought by him. this whole thing horrifies me....the way the manager keeps justifying doing all this humiliating, frightening stuff to this poor girl, all because 'i thought i was talking to a police officer.' thank god someone with some decency finally showed up to help her. i just finished reading 'fatherland' (excellent book, btw), so the whole nazi/totalitarian mindset was very much in mind while i watched this.
