Debra - UTR1 - Only just saved from INV by one or two sentences re not telling Sierra their doubts about Brendan
Erinn - UTR2 - What kind of jackass is he??? Confessionals all about Coach and Tyson. Does she have her own game??
Sierra - UTR2 - Very confident about Exile Alliance. Is that a good thing so early on?
Tyson - MOR2 - Caught out Brendan on making connections with other tribe, and plots to vote him out.

Alright, I at least want to post a winner pick by episode 5. Wanted to try to contribute a little. Sydney Debbie Coach Joe Not winning. INV, ignored, etc. Taj Tyson Brendan JT You can make cases for these 4. I had JT near the top a while, but he's the outfront distraction for Stephen and the one note edit now. His opinions aren't holding "weight" for me. Taj is a big character, but she, like Brendan, get a lot of time but shockingly little about their own feelings, except the "perfect" alliance they've set up. Tyson, really I think no chance. Maybe should've put his in the Not Winning section. Sierra - Really, until this week, JT was ahead of her. Okay, she does have story, manipulation, but I just don't feel it. Way out front, she's already (between Erinn and then Brendan becoming a target of her tribe) survived and outlived the "not picked/first out" and "learn to adapt" storyline. She's not getting much insight into her position in the big alliance. Erinn - Perfectly placed at the right times. Biggest concern for me is how she's not as good a pick as Stephen. Her arc is beating out Coach and Tyson, and I'd bet the house on it. I may only have mine for another few weeks, but still... Stephen - Damn near perfect. I knew his character, the nerdy guy. I know he's got a path to learn and adapt to, learning to team with a JT. He's thrust into a hidden alliance, but is given insight about, so if it fails, he comes out wizened. Most important, his decisions have weight. We see the conflict in protecting himself. What choice should he make, his tribe or the hidden alliance? He keeps the idol in a way the audience has to agree with. He's not super loveable, nor super hatable. But we know him, we see his journey, and yet, we are supposed to focus on JT's prowess, Sandy's craziness (to now) and Taj's everything. A great spot to be. You can easily recall his entire journey, but to most it's subtle. So for now, I'd have to roll the dice on Stephen. Michael |

I'm thinking that they can afford to put Sierra out in front because, to most watching, she wouldn't seem like an obvious choice to win. In the exile
alliance, most would be keeping their eyes on Brenden and Taj. That's where most of the attention is. Sierra and Stephen are just facilitators-pawns who
like the alliance.
Sierra's whole situation is very ironic. She was pegged to leave first and the twist has actually propelled her into her current situation. She would probably never been in the place she is had she not been targeted on day 1. She got a chance to show her work ethic alone and not blend into the background. She worked on the shelter apart from the egos (Brenden, Coach, Tyson) whereas she probably would have been seen as lazy if she stayed with the group. The vote also showed her who she might be able to trust, something she would not have gotten otherwise. From there, she was part of the EA. She helped Brenden and Brenden helped her. There hasn't been a negative thing said about her in this entire game that she had any control over. Being a young model who seems like an awkward goofy girl, it's rather interesting that every bit of attention paid to her has been game related and EVERY bit has somehow been focused on her status and leans toward her journey to victory. As far as I am concerned, the ONLY thing she has going against her is the fact that she stated twice that she's sitting on top. That scares me a little. Part of me is leaning toward a final 2 of Sierra/Stephen, with Erinn as a possible 3rd person if there's a final 3. I am thinking that after Coach and Tyson are somehow blindsided (seems inevitable), Brenden and Taj will also be blindsided when it's realized that they have too much power. Stephen and Sierra will realize what's going on and close the gap by pulling in stragglers dangling on the bottom (Deb and Erinn?). And I think that JT will be a goner VERY early in the merge as a typical physical threat. He seems like as good a first jury member as any. The thing is, Stephen has also not gotten any negative yet. Seems that it will come down to who is seen to have betrayed whom. Betcha Stephen is blamed for betraying JT and Taj. |

Even when there is an "obvioius" choice they always said, "It will be Yul or X" or "It will be Earl or X" and X is always a SYT. And like a stopped clock every now and then they're right. Actually, I think the Erinn's Fan Club thing is pretty funny. But you have a nice little club there! |

Spencer: CP4 - Good boot episode for him. I thought he was slight N for the stereotyping of JT, but chose to stick with neutral. Stephen: CP4 - Great episode for Stephen, he is the only one of the EA who is not overconfident and who has other options open. He is very aware of his position in the game and the choices that he must make in the future, whether to stick with his tribe or stick with Taj. Sydney: UTR1 - Talked to Spencer about her boyfriend, used solely as a catalyst for Spencer's confessional Taj: OTTM5 - This episode eliminates Taj as a possible winner for me edgically. This is too early to be so visible, especially for so many episodes in a row. Timbira: Ben: MORN2 - Actually had a very insightful confessional about Brendan, but then got contradicted by nature. He also received negative SPV again from Erinn. Brendan: MOR3 - He seemed like the narrator for the EA this episode. Debbie: UTR1 - Barely visible again. Erinn: UTR1 - Another jab at Coach as her only confessional. She's on the radar, but she hasn't said much of anything about her strategy in the grand scheme of the game. Sierra: UTR2 - Not a bad episode but not a good episode either. Starting to sound overconfident about the EA. Every confessional so far has been game related though, which is distinct from Erinn. These UTRs are fine as long as Jalapao goes to TC, but if Timbira goes to TC, she's going to need another big episode to keep up with Stephen edgically. Tyson: MOR2 - A good episode for Tyson because of his insight about Brendan, but he could simply be used as doubt for the EA. Winner list: 1. Stephen 2. Sierra 3. Erinn 4. JT 5. Brendan 6. Tyson Eliminated: Debbie, Joe, Sydney, Ben, Taj

When I go on survivor I want start the first ever alliance of 8 on the first day of tribal council and promise each and every one of them to the f2... all on
the hike to camp brought up by the comment about the shamrock 8 alliance being revealed... its totally on topic with the off topic comments from earlier

Stephen is my number one choice after last night. He is the only member of the exile alliance edited to believe anything other than "...and now that I'm in this alliance, I win!"Those are my top 3 , and Stephen certainly went up ep.5 for the reasons given. Not sure if he overtakes Sierra just yet. Against Steph is his Vis 2 in ep.1 despite going to TC, and not being on the complex tribe. But if postmerge is primarly about Timbra and the Exile Alliance, Stephen could blend into that through the EA, with him exploiting the split in Timbra much as Chris did with the Yasur women. He obviously has the "right stuff" to win if you read his bio. And the idol is now his (as Probst explained in his blog). Note that Stephen is the one player whose first impression was primarily correct (regarding Sandy), while she falsely thought he'd be someone easy to lead around and manipulate. I see him doing that to Taj, JT, etc, and those are skills which get you the win. If he loses, he probably goes out like Rob C and YM, on the verge of victory. |

Ratings after second watch:
Timbira Brendan - CP3 - he's all about the Exile Alliance, I think his confessionals were complex enough to give him a CP, but I understand a MOR, after all that's the rating he's receiving every week since episode 2: CPMOR. He's looking like a distraction, but I haven't eliminated him yet. Coach - MORN2 - he had a pretty good confessional about Brendan's alliance with the members of the opposite tribe, but than he got contradict by the weather and received a deserved negative SPV from Erinn. He's a jackass, that's what the editors want us to see (I think). Debbie - UTR1 - she had a line subtitled warning Tyson to not tell Sierra about the blindside they are planning against Brendan. She's very smart, but, unfortunately, she has no chance to win. The way the editors are hiding her from us, I think, is because in the merge she'll become an OTTP character, and her connection with the negative forces, Tyson and Coach, would go against it. Erinn - UTR2 - she had a confessional entirely dedicated to Coach, however, I don't think it was bad for her in an episode where she hadn't to go to TC. Good cooldown, I can see her winning. Sierra - UTR2 - The second time I watched I found her a little bit overconfident with the Exile Alliance, and I don't think it was good for her chances, but she still is in my Top 2 (now as #2). Tyson - MOR2 - I don't think he has any chance to win this game, but I don't feel safe to eliminate him yet, and he had a pretty good development in this episode. I don't know what to do with him. Jalapão Joe - MOR3 - he's irrelevant to the show. I can see him going home next episode because of his knee (it was subtitled during the Immunity Challenge, the editors wouldn't subtitle that if it wouldn't have anything to do with the future events). JT - OTTM3 - all confessionals he gave never have his name on the screen! It's really hard to me to understand what he's saying because of his accent. lol. Stephen - CP3 - a great episode for Stephen, he's the only member of EA to show any doubt about whether or not it's good for him. He's the #1 in my list now. Spencer - MORP4 - I think he was a positive character in this episode and, in my opinion, he hadn't enough complexity for a CP. Sydney - UTR2 - that's Sydney, she's always in the background. Taj - CPM5 - huge visibility, apparentely, a huge distraction. I don't think she has any shot at winning this, but I'm being very conservative this season and I won't eliminate her until she's voted out or I'm completely convinced that she's not the winner. CONTENDERS: 1. Stephen 2. Sierra 3. Erinn 4. Brendan 5. JT 6. Tyson 7. Taj Eliminated: Debbie, Coach, Joe and Sydney |
