SANDY = CP

Here is my argument for Sandy being CP:

HERE'S AN OVERVIEW OF SANDY'S CONFESSIONALS:

SANDY: You know, if they're thinking strategy, I don't think it's the right strategy. You know, it's like, if you got 100 guns, let's take 75 of 'em, you can have 25 and maybe be able to take a shot at us.

In between these, there was a brief scene of her with the beans and being annoying, where Sydney said she repeats everything at least three times. This is really the only thing I would see as OTT in the editing.

SANDY: If I were choosing who was leaving this tribe next, it would be Sydney. Sydney is using everything she has from head to toe to enchant every one of the boys. She runs around in their boxers, you know, and doesn't sleep in her bra at night. And she is like up against the boys 24-7, trust me, she's playing this game hard and it's working. Oh, they love her to death. I still think they can see through it, but they still like the package, yk. If they're not gonna put your name down, you better be pulling off more than a bra. You better be puling off some panties or something, so I might have to trick her that way. If I can't outwit her with the body, I'll outwit her with the brain.

SANDY: I've got mixed emotions. I don't feel bad and I don't feel good. Yk, Taj is leaning towards Sydney and she said I'm doing better in the challenges, actually, than Sydney, but we'll see. I think maybe JT and them are telling me the truth and I'm gonna be here tomorrow.

HERE'S HER TRIBAL COUNCIL QUESTIONS:

SANDY: I believe I did recover [from the first impression]. I fit in with this gang quite well, given the fact that I'm the older woman, so it makes me feel good, believe me.

SANDY: Yes, the old age factor plays a part in that, but yk I bring them a lot of laughs and so forth, but I people might use a little bit of their beauty or their body. I've seen a little bit of flirting as far as Sydney is concerned, yk, maybe wearing the boxer shorts of JT.

SANDY: I think there might be a person or two upset depending on the outcome, there might be a couple people very upset so tomorrow'll tell the story.

I would say that this is another instance of an OTT personality, but a CP edit. It definitely has some depth to it and we get into Sandy's head.

1) CP means a character that is well-developed. Their editing has depth to it, and their choices are presented to the audience so that we get an insight into their thinking. We generally see their strengths and flaws. Not too surprisingly, these are the major players in the course of the game, and it is their choices that shape the story.

I would say we get insight into her thinking. Her first confessional is very true, and it's strategy in nature as well. She's saying it doesn't make sense strategically to leave the other tribe beans when Jalapao could have crippled Timbira. Now, JT's point makes sense too but that doesn't mean Sandy's isn't logical. I think the way she says it could be construed as OTT, especially with the gun analogy, but it still has complex thought to it. Also, her second confessional gives a perfect assessment of Sydney that was backed up 100% by what we saw. Again, she has the OTT personality with the laughing and the way she says it, but undeniably, it's insight into her thinking.

2) CP shows complexity of thought about the game, and or complex emotions that might be construed as Positive or Negative. "Players" like Brian, Shii Ann, Jeff Varner, or Chris, during the normal course of their editing, would in my mind be complex because they were always in the game. and many of their edits related directly to the strategic maneuvering in their tribe (successful or not).

She definitely makes some strategic comments, not just in terms of the bean/gun analogy (which is survival-related strategy for her tribe), but more specifically in terms of her assessment of Sydney and how to outwit Sydney. It didn't pan out, but the thought is still good and it makes sense given the edit: Sydney was using her body, so Sandy had to use her mind.

3) Someone who expresses internal conflict over a situation, someone who expresses a "deep" or turbulent emotion like remorse, loneliness, or betrayal expressed intelligently and not like "You're a liar, T!;" someone who demonstrates a complex strategy or bold strategic move and their reasoning for it. There has to be something shown in interviews that contradicts what we've seen or adds conflict to the scenario.

A weak connection, but she expresses some uneasiness about the vote saying that she has mixed emotions over it, meaning she doubts whether or not she'll be voted out, so this might work - but very weakly.

4) If the player gets quality screen time and is either shown multiple times being strategic or shows a multi-dimensional side, then you go with CP

Somewhat.

In a general sense, she understands her position in the tribe (as seen in TCQ #1 and 2), and she gives an insightful assessment of Sydney that is backed up in the editing. Again, I think the OTT comes more from her personality than anything, but that her edit has enough complexity to earn a CP.
