Could they boot someone without a visibility spike? He's gotten a decent number of confessionals, we remember he exists, although an awful lot of them were about dearly departed Sandy.
Is being the oldest the kiss of death in Survivor? It is most definitely an image battle. But age is just a number. As you saw, I held my own and did whatever I needed to do in challenges. The first one Sydney and Spencer didn't get through the maze. I had it figured out. It took her forever to get the puzzle piece. Sydney was the cause of us going to the two councils. I had a target on my back from the first two minutes of the game, but I made a reprieve. If the vote was done over, I think that Sydney would have been the one and I think in the next few episodes you'll see the regret.

After, I posted here, I found an article at Reality TV World where Todd Herzog revealed that he and Spencer are dating. The timing of this revelation could mean that Spencer is out soon. Todd said that they met a month before his season started (I'm assuming that Todd meant start of broadcast rather than start of production). http://www.realitytvworld.com/news/survivor-china-champ-todd-herzog-dating-tocantin-spencer-duhm-8583.php This is the part of the article that is most incriminating. He's coming to stay with me all next week, and I with him next month. I'll be in New York for his finale in May and we are planning a huge trip this summer... Survivor Tocantins is pre-empted by March Madness next week. So, Spencer may be taking a break from being with Todd, to do the usual media tour after he is voted out in the episode after the next one or possibly the episode after that. Todd's revelation of their plans could mean that Spencer lasts at most a few more episodes. Also some further evidence that things look bad for Jalapao from big mouth Sandy. Announcer: Plus, will one castaway's secret life hurt him?
Spencer <in confessional>: They are maybe inclined to get rid of somebody like me
This reminds me of Episode 6 of Panama/Exile Island when we saw Dan the Astronaut reveal his secret to his tribe (that scene actually occurred much earlier in the season) and then get booted in the same episode (but not because he was an astronaut) The promo clip together with the timing of Todd going public with their relationship makes me think that Spencer is this week's boot. Sandy already spilled the beans that Sydney does not go this week. I only see Joe being booted if Taj uses the HII and votes for him and everyone else votes for her. But with Taj's surprise vote for him at the last TC, I don't see Joe and the rest of the tribe risking that she would play the HII. That leaves Spencer as the most likely boot choice as JT and Stephen are not going anywhere.

I don't see Taj, Sydney, Stephen having a problem with it. I don't see JT and Joe having a problem with it either, I think it's just misdirection.

Even if that is not at all part of why Spencer is booted, would the editors allow us the slightest opportunity to have that impression? Shouldn't they have been showing him underperforming or whatever all along, at least a little?

If Taj and her Idol come into play I think it's simple...she goes for her biggest rival - Sydney. If it's a straight vote out I'd say Joe or Sydney. Sandy could just mean she felt they needed her in challenges. She could feel she's a stronger competitor than a man or men, as well as Sydney. Sydney pops into that because last week it was her or Sandy atTC.

They are on different tribes so it is interesting there is hype on this particular alliance (without any mention of Brendan/Stephen, it was all geared toward the women) I wonder why that was done for THIS particular episode; it isn't as if much could really be done with this alliance since they are on different tribes right now so why the hype of these two and the "women" alliance and questioning if it would work (with a nice throw in by Joe); it would be different if they are on the same tribe. Except for the Brendan stuff and Spencer's confessional, there wasn't much else. But I am curious why the big deal now over Taj/Sierra - it is still fairly early to pimp this - I could understand this more if we knew the merger was around the corner or a switch was happening -..snip...
