As much as I hate agreeing with people that only have the capacity to write "Name A/Name B <333333" over and over again, I like this team. Margie
is physically strong for her age and Luke seems to be pretty aware and intelligent. I can't really understand the hate for them, they only talked about
Luke being deaf a couple of times and it is at the beginning of the season and obviously has a huge effect on the way
they'll play this game. And as far as all the bullshit about him making retarded noises, he's fucking deaf. Are you serious? He can't HEAR himself
making noises, he doesn't know when he's doing it. Unless of course he's trying to like when he's cheering on his mum, and then oh my god, how
dare he try to speak when he's deaf right?
I do find it kinda weird that he can't lip read, but as far as we know there's a good reason why he hasn't learnt. And even if there isn't, he shouldn't HAVE to lip read if he doesn't want to. Jesus. |

I have nothing but respect for them for taking out the most boring team of the season. The hate just doesn't make sense to me.

Honestly, they have really toned down the whole deaf people can do anything aspect of their race. Other than the roadblock, they were really just another team
(with a preview at the beginning, but they were previewed because they used the u-turn, not because he's deaf. I'm sure if any other team used the
u-turn, they would have been previewed). All of the teams got a fair amount of confessionals and air time this episode.
Most of the haters won't give him a chance. Even if he only got one confessional per episode where his Mom has to talk for him, people would complain how TAR14 is turning into the Luke show. They wouldn't be happy until he got no confessionals or screen time, and then they'd complain he was invisible. Like, they eliminate Kris/Amanda, who most people complained we're the most boring team left, and we get a ton of posts saying "OMG I liked Kris and Amanda. I always hate young boring couples, and I know I said I wanted them gone yesterday, but I LOVED them! FUCK YOU LUKE!" Seriously, when did Kris/Amanda get so popular? |
