Heh heh, remember seasons ago when the title of this thread read "cancellation imminent"?

So in regards to last nights ratings, does anybody know how AI's numbers compare to what the show usually gets on its normal night? I really don't think that going up against AI for a couple of weeks will hurt Survivor in the long run. However, Fox is the network that had been making all that noise months ago about how they were purposely trying to kill-off Survivor, so part of me is worried that Fox might decide to move AI permanently if they think they can still get great numbers and kill of the other #1 reality show on the air at the same time.

^ According to TV By the Numbers, last Wednesday's Idol results show got 24.39 million.. last night they are reporting the Thursday night results show got 20.62. So there was kind of a significant drop off there.

i don't think so. they weren't even supposed to be on Thursdays at all this season, but Obama's speech bumped they're schedule off a day later. not too sure though, correct me if i'm wrong.

I could've sworn I read something about Survivor going up against AI both this week and next week, however I just went poking around and couldn't find any articles or anything stating this, so maybe not.

Tonight's episode preformed considerably well. I thought it would be around 11.5 million and 3.5, but only lost 1.4 million viewers and 0.5 in the 18-49 demo from last week.

Over night viewership:

EPISODE 01: 13.630 million, 4.4/13 18-49, 2.6/8 18-34

EPISODE 02: 13.670 million, 4.5/13 18-49, 2.7/8 18-34

EPISODE 03: 12.284 million, 4.0/11 18-49, 2.4/8 18-34*

If they cancelled everything on tv that was crap, there would only be a total of maybe 10 shows. And the majority of them are on HBO/Showtime.

There's so many disruptions. Idol, March Madness, preemption, etc.

Viewers miss a couple of episodes and they may not come back.

TV Ratings: FOX plays wild card Thursday

'American Idol' helps push FOX past CBS
"American Idol's" wild-card show helped FOX snatch Thursday's ratings crown away from CBS.

Both networks averaged a 9.2 rating/15 share among households for the night, but FOX's 15.94 million viewers beat CBS' 14.98 million for the top spot. NBC finished a distant third at 4.6/7. ABC, 3.9/6, came in fourth, and The CW trailed at 1.3/2.

FOX had a bigger lead among adults 18-49, scoring a 6.1 rating in the key ad demographic. CBS took second with a 4.0, beating out NBC's 3.2. ABC averaged 1.6 and The CW 0.8.

"American Idol" delivered a 12.2/19 for FOX at 8 p.m. "Survivor: Tocantins" earned a 7.1/11 for CBS. "Ugly Betty," 4.3/7, grabbed third for ABC, beating out NBC's combo of "My Name Is Earl," 3.5/6, and "Kath & Kim," 2.7/4. The CW aired a "Smallville" rerun.

CBS took over the lead at 9 with "CSI," 12.8/20. "Hell's Kitchen" drew a 6.2/10 for FOX. NBC moved into third with "The Office," 5.2/8, and "30 Rock," 4.6/7. A "Grey's Anatomy" rerun on ABC was fourth, while a "Supernatural" repeat on The CW scored a 1.2/2.

"Eleventh Hour" posted a 7.9/14 for CBS at 10 p.m. "ER," 5.8/10, took second for NBC, beating the 3.3/6 for a "Private Practice" rerun on ABC.

Survivor was down just over 300k viewers and a tick in the 18-49 demo.
Like I promised, I'm adding a live+7 table. I only have total viewers number, but I'm hopping to find demos numbers as well.

Alright, so idol's fucking us up big time, and now we're not going to get a chance to see if we can recover because CBS is fucking up it's own shows by postponing them for college basketball.
