Hi, I know Im a total newbie to posting so you will probably disregard all that I write but this is all true. Its exciting for me cos its the first time I
can contribute something I think is new info:
Survivor 20 will be returning to film in Aitutaki, Cook Islands! I stayed there for over a month last year and was talking to a local friend yesterday. As they
did for Survivor 13, my friends have been asked to contribute boats for during production. Last time many locals were hired to use their boats for transport
and patrolling the lagoon to maintain security. They've been told SEG will be arriving in October, so that fits with usual even-numbered season filming.
I learnt lots of interesting stuff while I was there about Season 13. Security is very tight and apparently there were journalists trying to break the barriers
to find out info all the time, including one who tried to scuba dive under the patrol boat line!
Old info, but the tribes were transported by motor boat to tribal council, which was in a small clearing on the main island. They were then put in a row boat
not far off to film them rowing in.
Ozzie caught a giant clam during the season but apparently there are no giant clams in that part of the lagoon usually, so Im guessing they must have been
planted.
The two main islands used arent that big at all and you can see people on the other island from them. Exile island was close by too and not as remote as seen
on film. Also, they abandoned ship outside of the lagoon but there is no way rafts would make it over the natural barrier between the ocean and lagoon, so they
must have had some help there.
All of Aitutaki loved the Survivor crew, they were very generous to them Im told and Im sure they'll be incredibly happy to have it back.
