...why are you still giving foreign aid?
From BBC News: Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas hopes to raise almost $3bn (£2.1bn) for reconstruction efforts. The US is expected to pledge 900m (£633m) in new money towards that effort. Doesn't make sense to me. |

I'm sorry, did Palestine attack the United States recently and I'm just not remembering it? There were people in
America who jumped up and cheered when 9/11 happened.
It is in America's great interest to at least appear neutral -- at least with humanitarian aid -- in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. That aid, by the way, is more for Saudi Arabia's benefit than for any great need for our country to help oppressed peoples. |

Just because we're broke doesn't mean we need to let our alliances unravel. Perhaps 900m seems rather excessive, but I don't know the context of
