Looks like JT is the other one holding weights for Jalapao? No sign of Stephen, Spencer or Sierra. Probably had to be two men and one woman. Seems like the red tribe should be better at this.

I think I like the approach of your own team loading - more opportunities for second-guessing.

It's probably just like in the Pearl Islands and Cook Islands where the other tribe picked a player, and other people from the same tribe would load onto them. Yea, it's gotta be one woman, two men, or there'd be no sense in putting Debbie in.

And with the gender imbalance... all 3 Jalapao women are shown, while only Debbie and Erinn are seen for Timbira, there's likely 3 and only 3 weight carriers per tribe. Looks like they're loading up on Brendan and JT.

The immunity challenge looks like a larger version of the puzzle part of Guatemala's F4 IC.

Do you think this is like the water race they had in Palau where you could pass your weight to another player? Or maybe the object is to load up all the bags in their pile?

The spacing of the steps vs the people holding the weights is interesting. You have as much danger of the person lading the poles falling into you and knocking you off as you do falling off yourself.

Also looks like "red rope marks the trail" towards those stands, so maybe they run there to retrieve the the word planks.

edited to add I thought the black and red trails to those stands were part of the puzzle challenge.

For the water challenge I 'd say yes to 3 vs 3. And I'd bet the loading is one at a time and you have to have at least 1 set of bags, after that the stronger players can carry the weight. First team to have 1 person "crash" loses.

I think Taj would definately have the advantage to Debbie....so therefore Debbie will out last her

Well they already did the weight challenge a few times.. there was the one in Australia, where one tribe member held the weight (Colby vs. Michael), the one in Pearl Islands (Rupert, Shawn, Christa vs. Andrew, Ryno, Osten) and then the one in Cook Islands with pairs of people.

I think this is the exact same challenge as the Pearl Islands challenge because in a recent interview, Kirhoffer said that they reuse a past endurance challenge, and this is probably it.

Predictions:

Jalapao wins Reward because of the website clue that a strategic decision causes a rift in Jalapao. The decision is probably who to send to Exile Island. Taj/Stephen will want to send Sierra while the rest of the tribe wants to send Brendan again

I honestly think it might come down to Taj vs. Debbie/Tyson, which Taj will win. Definitely agree that Jalapao wins Reward, causing the rift with the Exile choice.

Yea, it'll be like in PI, where JT and Brendan will be the first two out after the other tribe loads them up, and then between Tyson/Debbie vs. Joe/Taj, Jalapao should win.

Also a random question... what is Sydney wearing in that picture? Has she always had black shorts? Or is she wearing one of the guys' boxers or something?

ETA: I think Sydney has whatever she's wearing as a skirt/shorts on top of her head in the preview for the next episode too.

So Sydney is wearing JT's boxers...Isn't she shown massaging his back? This is after this bruising RC where I think JT probably wins this and is named "The Strongest Man Alive"...Same scene in the Outback of S2 when Jerri Manthey was rubbing Colby's sore shoulders from this identical challenge...

So JT wins this for Jalapao, and the tribal rift occurs when it is his new GF, Sydney who's on the chopping block. OR maybe JT is strategic enough to not let it matter to him. That Stephen is his better alliance partner...

Wouldn't Timbira winning shake up the exile choice? I would figure Jalapao would just select Brendan once again. I feel like "The Strongest Man Alive" episode title must refer to someone in this challenge who wins it for their team. Debbie and Taj are female, so they can be ruled out. Brendan has a hell of a lot of bags on his thing, so maybe it is him. I suppose it could be Joe or JT, but Brendan winning the Reward for Timbira would make sense to me. I think Timbira may win both challenges this week.

Enlighten me, I am still trying to figure out how this sand bag challenge goes. From the black "Timbira" mat by the sand bags, players must gather those bags from elsewhere in order to pile them there and load up the um...victims. Are we thinking the red and black stands are associated with this challenge? And I recall reading they had "back up" challenges for times during which rains made it too dangerous for players to be in the river. Is this one of those times?
