The way I see it, if Corinne was purple-rocked out of the game while in possession of the idol, specifically because she got people not to vote for her and
thus made herself vulnerable to a purple rock, THEN she would be a candidate for OTT, because her actions leading up to a failure would be over-the-top. But
since that didn't happen, CP is the way to go.

Ok, let me try to get caught up on the last of these comments, starting with YemaGrl1988...
Thank you very much for your comments on the episode. I know there are some episodes this sason that you haven't enjoyed as much, so I'm really happy to see you liked this one and I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. WOW! This just got really good. The game is now on it's climax and is becoming VERY interesting. I loved this episode, it seems like the Marcus/Jacquie/Bob/Sugar utopia is crashing and burning and it's making the game very interesting from a readers point. I am extremely to see that there were some animal scenes this episode, it really was a nice balance of strategy/game. I also really like how The Garden Of Eden story was emerged this episode, I love it. I was happy there was no exile either, it allowed for extra character development. I also like how the reward wasn't all about winning and being happy, it brought some game in Randy. On that note, I love Randy, it's official. I am so happy that he wants the idol out of the game. Thanks so much. I would agree that it seems like the game is coming up to it's climax probably with whichever group gains control at the merge, and that probably is the climax, but the merge episodes are actually going to be quite unpredictable and there will be some big vote-offs and blindsides there, so I don't expect it to suddenly drop in excitement after that. There are definitely some more "Africa" related scenes to come, specifically in terms of rewards. I wanted to save the big get-away rewards until after the merge, but some of those will be significant in terms of culture and stuff. I knew that I had to incorporate the Garden of Eden into the story somehow. I did some research on it bc I only knew the most basic story. I agree about not having Exile; it's good to have some charcter development, though post-merge Exile scenes are pretty good, I'd say, and I definitely use them to develop those characters who are sent rather than just showing boring stuff there. Glad you liked the Reward, and Randy's idol story is definitely not over. Thank you so much for the 10 - I really, really, appreciate it, and as of right now (I hope it stays this way), this is the second highest rated ep ever (after Denise's boot in China). Thanks for your predictions and for filling out the Popularity Poll. I enjoyed the comments on each of the characters. :) Ace - 2 (Don't really like him) This is good, from my editing point of view. Charlie - 1 (Bland, I don't really find him interesting) Crystal - 10 (I like how she has down time but is still there) She'll be back a bit more in Episode 8. Dan - 1 (See Charlie) (See Charlie) G.C. - 8 (Very likable, interesting to watch) Much more likable than he was portrayed on the real show, that's for sure. And I like that bc I sortof feel he got an unfair edit - maybe unfair isn't the best word, but not entirely accurate. Jacquie - 10 (I knew she would end up being Eve, I love how her story started this episode)I'm glad her popularity has gone up considerably this week! :) Randy - 10 (Love him!) He might be the first person this season to get over 90 - his numbers went way up! Susie - 10 Glad you're still giving her the 10 - she needs it, as her average has been dropping more every week since Ep 2. Thanks again for your comments, YemaGrl1988! I really hope that you continue enjoying the story as much as you enjoyed this episode. Have a great day! :) |

But since that didn't happen, CP is the way to go. I think that's a good way of looking at it, and it would be nice for her to get a CP just to show that her edit actually had some complexity to it. |

Hello lquiogue24. Thanks a lot for your comments on the episode. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts, and it's really
great to see another 10 for this episode. That makes me very happy! :)
Loved it! Finally seeing a swing vote flip made my day! Thank you. This definitely won't be the end of these big votes that get flipped around by someone switching. There's some more big blindsides coming up, some of them that you definitely won't expect. Bob, how close were you really to voting out Marcus? At this point, he wasn't really thinking about it. He still thought Marcus was useful as an ally AND for the tribe, but it was in the individual stage that he would have been willing to vote Marcus out. I would say that he would make a move to get rid of Marcus around Final Eight/Final Seven, and he definitely WOULD have voted Marcus. He was just trying to preserve his integrity until a time came when Marcus really had to go. But if Kota had continued losing Immunity constantly, it would have been (ideally) Corinne/Dan, then Marcus. So Marcus was on Bob's list, just not immediately. Thanks for your predictions for Ep 8 and for filling out the Popularity Poll! Both tribes decide to blinside the cocky idol holders. I think it would be amazing to see that happen, especially in back-to-back TCs. The only thing is that I don't know how good it would be to lose two big villains at once. Paloma - 10 :) Finally, thanks for your Edgic ratings and great job on them! There are a few that were slightly different than what I had in mind (particularly Bob, Marcus, and Crystal), but that's no problem! The only one I would firmly disagree with is INV1 for Crystal because she did have 2 confessionals, so that can't work just because INV1 is for ppl who are totally ignored in the episode and not shown at all. Thanks again for your comments, lquiogue24. I enjoyed reading what you had to say, and I hope you continue to enjoy the rest of the story. Have a great day! :) |

Hey I've been a bit INV but have still been following I promise. I love that Sugar is gone, she was getting too whiny and annoying and had worn out her
welcome 2 episodes earlier. I figured Marcus would flip on them eventually after the whole big deal with Sugar's comment. The way it looks, he'll
probably be outlasting Jacquie. I love Corinne and Ace! Maybe because I usually love villains, and how entertaining the 2 of them are. Basically I like
everyone in this story except Dan who bores me. I still think Charlie wins and will say that til he is booted, but I'm rooting for Randy. Great work!

(A) What did you think of this episode? Please be as detailed as you can, wherever possible.
Loved it!! I did predict in the last episode that Corinne's "Idol...moron" comments would be foreshadowing to her demise, but I'm relieved that I was wrong. For now, it looks like she's in a good spot. Has an idol, has alliances on both sides...So I'm rooting for her. I thought it was a good reward and challenge, but I only disliked that Jacquie was given immunity. idk, I just find her to be boring as of now. Everyone else I think is very developed and interesting, so I'm definitely looking forward to seeing her progress without the fall-back of Bob. (B) What was your overall favorite part of the episode? Randy's nakedness disgusting Paloma and Corinne's idol search (C) What would you rate this episode out of 10? (1 being the lowest; 10 being the highest) 10 1. SOLE SURVIVOR POLL (A) Which castaway will be the Sole Survivor? Charlie 2. WHAT'S NEXT POLL (A) Which castaway will be voted off in Episode 8? Paloma (B) Which castaway will be sent to Exile? As lquiogue24 said, I'll say none due to the twist. 3. POPULARITY POLL (A) Please rate each castaway's popularity from 1-10. 1 is the lowest score, while 10 is the highest. Please try to base your ratings only on the likability of the characters in my story, not how they appeared on the real show. A lot of character building this episode, which was great! (B) What was your overall favorite part of the episode? Bob, looking back on it, would you have lied to Marcus to save yourself? 1. SOLE SURVIVOR POLL (A) Which castaway will be the Sole Survivor? Charlie 2. Like cardswin5, I haven't posted much. I apologize - my list of things to do just gets longer and longer. However, I have kept up with the story. This episode definitely deserves a 10. In my mind, I usually hate the real show when there's only one challenge in a non-premiere episode, but in your fanfic having only one challenge was a good thing. I vehemently dislike Ace and Corinne, although I don't think either one of them will win, so whoever does win eventually will have a great claim to fame, having overcome two evil people with idols. I have one question. I think it might have been explained in the episode, but I could use clarification. Why did Corinne not dump Dan? Was she seriously afraid of Charlie's counterthreat in the previous episode or was it more a case of Corinne hating Dan just a little bit less than Bob? I really liked the Randy-Jacquie connection (especially since Ace didn't get what he wanted). I think that Jacquie will eventually be blindsided,
perhaps brutally, but it definitely makes her storyline more interesting.

4. EDGIC POLL
* For readers familiar with the concept of Edgic. For more information Edgic, please visit this thread: S17 EDGIC (A) Edgic for my fanfics has been very successful over the past few seasons (including choosing Tracy as Micronesia's winner from early on), so I would love to get some reader involvement in determining Edgic ratings again. Please submit your own ratings in this thread. Ratings will be compiled and I'll post the final ratings in a chart before the next episode. Rating: INV, UTR, MOR, CP, OTT Tone: NN, N, Mixed (M) , Neutral (), P, PP Visibility: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 Ace - MORN2: I'm not sure he had enough visibility time to fully develop enough to be CP, but he certainly stood out and we got some insight. He was hidden due to the fact that Fang didn't atteend tribal, but still a major character. A great episode for a character who was safe. Bob - OTTM4: I feel like he had a lot of insight, and could very easily be CP or even MOR, but I felt like her was very one-noted in his loyalty. He stayed loyal and didn't think things out all the way. He was shown as making a bad move, but being loyal. This will not be a consensus rating, and I understand almost anything else. Interesting that he's the first loser with a CP episode. Charlie - CP3: Maybe MOR, but Charlie offered insight. It was good for his chances to be hidden behind Dan, Corinne, and the Marcus vs. Bob plotline. Corinne - CPNN4: Extremely negative, but she thought through everything, and her edit shows longevity. She continually planned for the future, and talked about doing things later in the game. I bet she sticks around for a while as a foil to Charlie, Dan, Paloma and even Jacquie/Marcus. Crystal - UTR2: She was one of the least visible players, and I cannot remember anything too important. Episodes like this may be saving her chances after a very visibile opening. Dan - CPP4: We were supposed to feel sympathetic after his trouble at the challenge, and he overcame those challenges. Just like the fire earlier this season, Dan faces problems and overcomes them, but will he be able to overcome in the end? All of a sudden, Dan has doubt and a very good shot at this despite his positivty. G.C. - MORP2: Again narratorish, but positive. I think his story is ending or is on hold for now. Jacquie - CPP3: Almost the complete opposite of GC, Jacquie's story is just beginning. It may not last long, but she will be a heroine forced to fight against evil. She'll be an underdog, and although she isn't winning, she finally has a role. Ken - UTR2: I don't remember anything he really did. Under the radar. Not winning. Marcus - CP5: I like Marcus in this story. He made a smart move, and is really thinking about the future. Bob said he deserves the merge, and I still have him pegged as leaving then. Paloma - MORP3: Not too sure on her, but she had insight, and was Ace's foil making her positive. Randy - CPN4: Maybe OTT or MOR, but CP has hints of OTT in it, and Randy was all over the place. He was shcmeing, he was very arrogant, he was nuts, but Randy is thinking out there, and although he comes off like a jerk, he's still solidly in this. He might be a late game villain who harms Eve, Jacquie. He might be the serpenet, whereas Marcus might be Jacquie's Adam. Current Chart
* Please factor in your own ratings for Episode 7 for the following questions 1) Based on Edgic, which Survivor(s) do you think have the best chance of winning? 1. Charlie: Charlie's perfect edit is still in effect, but he's being hidden extremely well now. He's going far, and I'll be shocked if he doesn't win or at least play a major role in who does win. 2. Dan: Dan's been shown to overcome things. He built the fire in Episode 2 after failing in Episode 1. He overcame his poor challenge performance to survive. He's extremely likable, and perhaps his season long arc may be overcoming his tragic flaw- his trustworthiness. It would certainly make sense in a story based on a biblical story of trust. 3. Randy: Randy drops due to a very OTT episode. I think it would still be interesting enough to show, but Randy is looking more like the snake in the garden, not the Adam who triumphs. Randy's cockiness is also setting him up for a fall- a big one. 4. Marcus: Marcus has made many decisions, and has longevity in his confessionals. He's out there thinking, but preswitch Kota looks doomed right now, and I'm not sure he can do that as his major story line- the Bob conflict- has been removed. 5. Ace: Ace is a villain, but he still has a very strong edit and storyline. I still see him going har. 6. Crystal: Her edit is calming down, and she still had a very good opening episode. She is the only woman with any shot at this. 7. GC: His edit is becoming narratorish, but he cannot be eliminated yet. 2) Based on Edgic, which Survivor(s) do you think are not eligible to be the winner, and are therefore "eliminated?" 8. Jacquie: She hasn't been INV, but she lacked in an early half arc, but her edit is picking up now. 9. Ken: He's too silent and hidden and negative. 10. Paloma: INVs 11. Corinne: Even she said she cannot win. I think that says it all. |

I wasn't able to post yesterday, so I didn't get to justify my three "strange" picks. I didn't think of Corinne as CP because her edit,
even if we did get into her head, was still very one-note "I hate these people and will use the idol to prevent them from getting rid of me." It was
sort of the same as Coach in episode one of Tocantins (where I gave him the same rating), in that his thought process itself isn't shown as complex, even
if we are shown it.
Paloma didn't feel manipulated enough to be a P. Any positivity in her edit would come merely from being the foil to the negative characters, but it didn't feel like she herself was being raised up. CPN for Randy because we got into his head, understood his (complex) game plan, and he was shown really negatively with a lot of negative SPV, between Paloma's and his cockiness about the vote. |

Hello Brazil Luvs Ami! Thanks for your comments on the episode. Great to have you sharing your thoughts every week. I
always enjoy reading them, and I'm really glad to see you enjoyed the episode so much! :)
I really liked it, a lot of new kind of strategies... You're doing a great job guatemalafanfic, congratulations! Thanks. I appreciate that comment! :) When Corinne reveals she has the idol to her tribeGlad you liked this. I'm not sure if you read the Notes or not, but this was one of the toughest parts for me to write because I wasn't trying to figure out how Corinne would actually reveal it and what she would say... Thanks so much for the 10! :) Thank you for your predictions and for filling out the Popularity Poll! Randy or Charlie or GC (please not GC!!!)I'll see what I can do about that request! Excellent Edgic ratings, as always! Thanks a lot for posting them. They are all extremely close to what I had in mind! G.C. - UTRP2At least you are still giving him fair ratings even though you dislike him. I appreciate you being unbiased. :) Also, thanks very much for your thoughts on the Contenders / Eliminated people. Very interesting... 3. Randy (I felt that he's the snake tempting Eve, I don't know yet if this role is a good thing, because of that I dropped him on my contender's list)Good point. Even with the "snake" analogy aside, the fact that he now looks to have 3 Ns in a row might not be the best thing for him either - unless he's a deliberately N winner for a certain purpose. Corinne (INV), Jacquie (UTR1 in the first episode), Paloma (INV), Ken (UTR1 in the first episode).Assuming everything about Edgic for this seasons follows the typical guidelines, it would definitely be hard to argue against any of those. Good job! :) Thanks again for all your comments! They are much appreciated, and you always bring up great points. Hope you enjoy the rest of the story, and have a great night! :) |

No worries about being "INV" - I know there are more people reading than can afford to reply, so that is okay! :) Yes, Sugar's demise was needed; her story couldn't go any longer. I also agree with you that Marcus flipping was imminent. You're really supposed to hate Ace and Corinne, but I understand that some people root for villains. Sorry that Dan bores you... Both Charlie and Randy seem like good picks at this point. Thanks, I hope to keep up the great work. If the rest of the season can be almost as good as this episode, it will be fine! :) |

The idol could still lead to Corinne's demise in some way; we'll have to see what happens with that. She definitely seemed to pick up some fans this episode - I know you always liked her though. Jacquie wouldn't have been voted out now either way, so her getting Immunity was irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. Jacquie is starting to develop a bit more as a character now too, so hopefully she won't be as boring. :) Thank you. Glad you liked these parts, and thanks so much for the 10! Thanks also for your predictions and for filling out the Popularity Poll. Yeah, you're probably right. I just didn't want to spoil that from the survey. Hello FallenTorch! Thanks so much for another great and very thoughtful post. I always appreciate the detail that you

Wow this was my favorite episode to date. I'm really glad that the Bob vs. Marcus stroyline played out with Bob leaving as he was boring. I was also happy to see a lot of development on Kota. A lot of character building this episode, which was great!Yay! Thanks so much! Glad this was your favorite episode, and that you enjoyed all of the character development. I definitely think Bob leaving was a better overall choice; I considered having Marcus go instead of Bob, FYI. Not sure how that will impact the people who think he wins, but I'm just throwing it out there. My favorite part was the emergenc of Jacquie as a vital "Eve" character, as well as her dealings with the crazy Randy. Thanks - that will be very important for Jacquie's story, so it's something to really keep your eye on! This is the first 10 I've given. Everyone was decently developed, and I enjoyed almost everything. I also liked having only one challenge.Awesome to hear all of this. Thank you so much for giving out your first 10! :) Thanks for this question. I think it would be perfect for the Reunion, so I will ask it then. Thank you for your Ep 8 predictions, and for filling out the Popularity Poll! Nice to see those 8s and 9s! Fantastic job on those Edgic ratings, as always! Thanks so much for posting them. Very helpful explanations too - it's nice to get your thoughts on why you rated them this way... :) Ace - MORN2: I'm not sure he had enough visibility time to fully develop enough to be CP, but he certainly stood out and we got some insight. He was hidden due to the fact that Fang didn't atteend tribal, but still a major character. A great episode for a character who was safe.Thanks. This is what I'm leaning towards too, but I can definitely understand the CP. Interesting that he's the first loser with a CP episode.Yeah, this is going to be an extremely tough one for me to decide. His submitted ratings for this week are all mixtures of CPs, MORs, and OTTs. Corinne - CPNN4: Extremely negative, but she thought through everything, and her edit shows longevity. She continually planned for the future, and talked about doing things later in the game. I bet she sticks around for a while as a foil to Charlie, Dan, Paloma and even Jacquie/Marcus.I think she is going to end up getting the CP this week. This will be another tough one to decide between CP(P)/MOR(P)(M). I'm not so sure that Dan overcame his troubles at the challenge yet. He may eventually become more confident though. Truthfully, my intent was OTTP but no one's given her that, so it will probably be MORP. Good thoughts on him. I think this makes CP and N an overwhelming majority. Thanks for your Contenders / Eliminated lists! Very good assessments of all of the edits! 2. Dan: Dan's been shown to overcome things. He built the fire in Episode 2 after failing in Episode 1. He overcame his poor challenge performance to survive. He's extremely likable, and perhaps his season long arc may be overcoming his tragic flaw- his trustworthiness. It would certainly make sense in a story based on a biblical story of trust.I like your take on him here, and if it's true, it's less likely to be a winning edit perhaps, and more of an edit of someone who comes close but falls short in the end. However, I admit it would be a unique WINNER's edit too, bc it's a story I haven't given to a winner. 6. Crystal: Her edit is calming down, and she still had a very good opening episode. She is the only woman with any shot at this.So let's hope she stays around for a while so there remains some chance for a female winner. 8. Jacquie: She hasn't been INV, but she lacked in an early half arc, but her edit is picking up now.Seems reasonable to me. Hard to disagree with any of that... Thanks again for your thorough comments! You always bring up great points and I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts! Hope you continue to enjoy the rest of the story, and have a great weekend! :) |

I vehemently dislike Ace and Corinne, although I don't think either one of them will win, so whoever does win eventually will have a great claim to fame, having overcome two evil people with idols.Hi GSWblue! Thanks for sharing these thoughts. No need to apologize for not commenting more - believe me, I completely understand and sympathize with you. My list of things to do is also growing and growing by the day. Glad you were able to keep up with the story, and I appreciate you saying the episode was a 10! Good to know you limited only one challenge in the episode too. Glad that you dislike Ace and Corinne as well bc that's how you're supposed to feel about them. I have one question. I think it might have been explained in the episode, but I could use clarification. Why did Corinne not dump Dan? Was she seriously afraid of Charlie's counterthreat in the previous episode or was it more a case of Corinne hating Dan just a little bit less than Bob?Corinne did not get rid of Dan because she knows that Dan said something to Paloma at the episode 6 challenge, which she assumed was Dan telling Paloma to vote out Ace if Dan/Charlie go. Really, Dan was saying to save Ace, but Corinne didn't know. So yes, she was afraid of Charlie's counterthreat, and as she said in the Episode, Dan was actually becoming less of a threat due to his nervousness... I like Crystal much better when she's not in the middle of the action. Perhaps her personality on television is affecting me too much, but whenever she's in control I get annoyed. She'll be a bit more involved in the action in Ep 8, but yes, it's nice for her to take a little break. GC's character is, as many others have pointed out, better than on the real show. He could still use another dimension or two, but overall he's a lot more positive.Thank you. Good to hear this. I think his character will get better again when/if he gets back into the story again! :) The Sugar exit scene a few episodes back was pretty good. I wonder if any of her warnings/criticisms will have an impact later in the game? Thanks - if nothing else, I think what she said was pretty accurate for everyone. On the whole, I think Charlie will win (which would be satisfying), although I'm scared that somehow Ace/Corinne/Crystal/GC/Ken/Randy will wind up being the final 6. If that's the case, I might stop reading, as I feel no better than ambivalent (GC) about any of those 6.Well, I certainly hope this doesn't happen bc I would hate to lose a reader just like that! I hope you can forgive my ramblings; I realize that everything I just wrote was really disjointed, as I was just writing whatever came into my head.Of course. Thanks so much for the comments! Hope you enjoy the rest of the story, and have a great night! :) |
