I'm sure this isn't a popular opinion, but I think the judges chose right. The passed appetizers seemed to be a tie. All the guests seemed to like all
three, so I'm removing that from consideration. As for the other three courses, each of the chefs seemed to win one of them. Carla had the best first
course, Stefan's second course was thought to be the best, and Hosea's final course was considered best. The difference is, both Stefan and Carla had
TWO dishes that disappointed - Carla's beef course and cheese course and Stefan's carpaccio and dessert - whereas Hosea only had one course that
disappointed - his carpaccio. In fact, his scallop/foie gras course was well-received enough that it almost seemed it could have won that round two if
Stefan's hadn't been just a little bit better. Given that it all comes down to this one meal, Hosea delivered better than the other two. Ergo, he
deserved to win.
I have to say that I kind of fell in love with Stefan tonight. He was so funny (loved the Jamie fantasy) and he was surprisingly sweet at the end when Carla cried. In her own season, Casey's "friends" always did seem to get eliminated. I should have known Carla was doomed the moment she got stuck with that hack! |

I don't doubt that Hosea had the best final meals. However, I don't like how they pick and choose when to consider past performances or not.

Carla even had a better placing average than he did. Hosea techincally only won 1-2 individual challenges (three if you include tonight). The win in week three for him was the team Thanksgiving challenge. To my knowledge, they never announced a winner that episode. In the foot notes they claim on some talk show that they announced the winner but it wasn't shown on tv (on tv they said the WHOLE team won, not those two people). The other win was when his and Rad's food spoiled so all the chefs helped him. So all in all, Ariane even won more challenges than Hosea
