Why would he do that ? To pretend he's not straight so he could be accepted into the group ? That comparison just doesn't make sense.

First off, gays generally don't bash straights. At worst, we mock them (*). As a group, we're just not as hateful, especially not when compared to the Xians and conservative Repubs and Libertarians.

Second, gays don't go into straight panic mode when a straight person suddenly appears in our midst. The presence of a straight person within 10 feet doesn't make us go into defensive denial about whether we might find members of the opposite sex attractive.

Third, gays are fully aware that straights are everywhere, and expect to encounter them in almost every situation.

Having said that, if one male in a group of otherwise gay men began bashing straights, the gay men wouldn't think "Oh, he must be one of us". They'd think "that guy's got an anger management problem" and avoid him. So, it would be a bad strategy.

(*) At best, we show them what they've been missing. Especially Brendan and JT. And if you're Charlie, Marcus.
