It's clearly brought its A game to the table this week, and next week also looks pretty good, I love how creepy Amy Acker is.

Did anyone else get excited upon seeing Romo Lampkin? It was like a BSG reunion. I wonder which other BSG character will show up on Dollhouse next.
That girl who was shown to be Helo's (sorry, don't remember his character name on this show yet!) neighbor in this episode was supposed to be a Doll originally right? I wonder if she'll play a bigger role later on other than just having a thing for Helo. |

I was disappointed by the first episode, and I was worried. But epi 2 won me back, and now I'm optimistic. We really started to get some backstory and
character development and I'm starting to care about Echo and her handler, at least. I love Eliza, but this show is starting to show me why her career has
never taken off -- this role is too tough for her. But damn, she looks good, so I'll give her a little more time to grow into the role. I'm not getting
how the Dollhouse can afford all this technology, PLUS a private army (and keep it all secret!) but I'm willing to suspend my disbelief some more.
(Oh, and Mark Shepard had a recurring role on 'Firefly', so technically he was in the Whedonverse before BSG. sry.) |

Episode two impressed me greatly.
First and foremost, Dushku has proven to me that she deserved this role and can not only handle it going forward, but possibly thrive. My two choices (Carpenter and Baccarin) would have been able to play the bad-ass Echo that we saw in the woods tonight, but I am not sure if either could have believably gone to the emotional and even child-like depths default Echo has to go to. And that is not a knock on Charisma or Morena, it is simply attesting to their strong presence as actresses. Eliza really brought it and has juggeled the many places her character goes quite nicely. The search for Dollhouse sub-plot isn't confusing as much as it is un-important right now. Those 2 or 3 scenes per episode could be used for more backstory/revealing a little more about the dark side of Dollhouse. Speaking of which, Reed Diamond who plays Mr. Dominic is bringing the bloody heat. His closing scene with Echo was perfect and really set the tone for what I believe will be happening going forward. As I have said before, this guy is one of the most under-appreciated actors in Hollywood and I pray that Whedon keeps him around for the long haul. I have no huge issues with the prostituion angle as it will ultimatley keep everyone (Echo's handler included) grounded for the audience and remind us that no matter how close we grow attached to some of these characters, that what they are doing is still illegal and morally wrong on an incredible amount of levels. In my eyes, episode two should be considered a success. I see no reason why Dollhouse couldn't become FOX's Friday main-stay, how Ghost Whisper has for CBS. The audience is clearly there and you have smart people on the project. Granted, the past shows I am asking for too much, but maybe the network will surprise us... maybe not. |

Mateui wrote:During her scene, I kept thinking that I bet she is a doll being used to keep tabs on the FBI agent. That must be how they are keeping tabs on the progress of his investigation. Now she saw that he has a picture of Echo/Caroline, so that info will go right back to the head chick at the Dollhouse. (I don't have the names down yet, but I love this show so far). |

During her scene, I kept thinking that I bet she is a doll being used to keep tabs on the FBI agent. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. And I have to admit I rolled my eyes at the beginning of the episode, thinking "Great, another prostitute story", so I was pleasantly surprised when he told he she better start running. |

Great episode. I was hoping it wouldn't bore me after the first one was just ok. |

Ratings down. Sigh.
Last night's Dollhouse drew 4.2 million and 1.7/7, down from last week when it drew 4.7 million and a 2.0 rating with adults 18-49, and notably this was against repeats on the CBS lineup. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles did not drop too much from last week, averaging 3.8 million and a 1.3 rating with 18-49s, but last week it was already very low. |

^ NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
I'm sad about that. Who was Romo Lampkin on last nights show by the way? |

He was the FBI agent playing doubting Thomas to Helo's pursuit of the Dollhouse in the house where the kidnappers had been shot up.
A FBI agent with an English accent? Uh.... Anyhow, not a bad ep. I didn't see the hunting game coming, so that was kind of cool. My issue is that this is starting to become a rip off of the Phillip K. Dick story that turned into Schwarzengger's Total Recall, what with Echo having bits and pieces of previous wipes still in her subconscious. Thx to the above who pointed out that the girl next door and the Russkie man about town are likely dolls themselves. That makes sense. |

episode 2 was a ton better then the pilot, but two things need some cleaning up. the dialouge and music aren't really going well together.
some of the things that the charecters are saying (especially the programmer guy) doesn't flow well and on top of that the drab music dulls and slows e v

Sad that the ratings went down. Everyone is thinking it won't get a season 2. *SIGH* Another Joss show bites the dust. If only Eliza jumped on the Faith
show instead of going with Tru Calling. UGH.

It was good last night. I really hate the security head guy. Hopefully he dies before the show is cancelled.

Was Amy Ackers characters face all fucked up in the pilot? I didn't notice it at all last week, but then last night it was pretty damn obvious.

Yeah it was messed up last week. Echo touched her face and asked her something like "is someone taking care of you?" I thought maybe Echo had done it
because the Dr. acted nervous and asked Echo if it bothered her that she couldn't remember things.
But she was in the dark most of the episode. It was much more apparent this week. |
