He mentioned back at his camp that Taj was on the outs with her tribe. I think he was trying to pick someone that would be easy to align with later or at least use in some way in the game. He might have assumed Sydney being a younger athletic female could be in the power alliance on her tribe.

Brandon and Taj are the too players so rich that people would hesitate to vote them the million if they know. Does Brandon have a good sense of "wealthdar." Also Jerry or Candace could be a selling point for her to join the Black tribe.

It happened in Africa I believe with Lex and Lindsey, so I wouldn't be surprised if it happened this season. They are taking more precautions to not lose people to medical evacuations so they would definitely take someone to get checked real quick and send them back in if they are okay.
