Survivor should defently outlast The Amazing Race in terms of longetivity. It would be tres funny to see The Amazing Race on the air when Survivor isnt. Or
even Big Broter for that matter.

The TAR 12 and TAR 13 premiere episodes were helped by football overruns. The TAR 14 ratings should be compared against the TAR 11 (the last Spring season)
premiere episode to convey the real picture.
CBS will continue to order seasons of Survivor, Big Brother and The Amazing Race until the network believes that the competitive reality elimination game show has run its course and there is another trend that can effctively replace it. I see all 3 shows ending at about the same time. |

Episode 2 speculation:
Bones is back this week and I don't see any way the numbers will improve over last week so, 12.5-13.1 million viewers and a 4.0/4.1 in 18-49 demo. |

From Zap2It:
EPISODE 01: 8.1/13 EPISODE 02: 7.9/13 A drop, but still not too bad. I guess we don't have to worry as much about "Bones" as we thought. Survivor's 7.9/13 beats Bones' 6.0/10 by a pretty decent margin. ETA: Just went back and checked, and this episode's 7.9/13 was only beaten by Gabon's finale, even with the numbers from Gabon's 6th episode, and higher than the numbers for all the other episodes of that season including the premiere. So yeah, still not too shabby.

It's good to be proven wrong about this. Again, households ratings are not accurate as total viewership, so ignore them.
Survivor actually improved a bit in total viewers (what I've posted last week wasn't the final numbers), and a tenth of a point for each demo. Over night viewership: EPISODE 01: 13.630 million, 4.4/13 18-49, 2.6/8 18-34 EPISODE 02: 13.670 million, 4.5/13 18-49, 2.7/8 18-34 |

Wow. Great news again this week. An increase in viewers is always good. It's also getting over Gabon, which is great news.

woohoo... great to see the ratings rising. was a bit anxious vs. Bones, but Survivor proves it's still a force to be reckoned with on the Thursday 8pm
slot.
BTW... isn't American Idol going against Survivor next week? so Bones is gonna be gone for another week? |

027huds wrote: I'm glad that the ratings for the season are off to a great start. Unfortunately just when the show is building momentum along will come freaking March Madness to hurt it. The initial increase in ratings may actually have come because of Gabon rather than in spite of it. Bob is the first older person to win and he is the most popular winner since Yul. |

^Good article.
I'm very very happy with ratings for last night's episode, especially in the 18-49 demo. Hopefully the season will stay consistent. |

If S19 and S20 get over 10 million viewers, they will keep producing more seasons. There's no way they stop at 20 seasons if the show is still going
strong.
