Yes, because freedom of speech and freedom of the press must crumble before the politically correct thought police. That goes both ways soz. The newspaper have the right to print and say whatever they want, just as the people protesting aginst it have the right to interpret and protest against it. |

Portraying a black person as a money has a significantly different meaning than portraying a white person as a monkey. Saying they're the same
is...oversimplifying matters, to say the least. It'd be great if that wasn't the case, but it is. :c \
I don't the cartoonist necessarily meant for the cartoon to signify Obama as a "black ape", but somebody at the Times had to have noticed that interpretation. Like someone said earlier, this is pure shitstirring. |

I'll bet it was just an inside joke that we're not privy to.

Its nice to know that in this day and age, political cartoons still have the ability to provoke and stir debate.
But really folks...lighten up. Its just a cartoon for crissake. |

Well that was a masterful insertion of something that has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

This cartoon is an outrage. Bush would never have been treated like this. Next thing you know somebody will be making a 2 hour feature film about his
assassination and getting rave reviews from the media. Oh wait...

Why does everyone keep thinking the monkey is Obama?
It seems to me the only racists are the people who see a monkey and immediately think, "Obama!" Read the fucking cartoon. Presidents do not write bills. Thus, the monkey is not Obama. The cartoon is about Congress and that goddamn monkey story. |

I'm more confused by the random Beware of Dog sign. It's not even on a fence. Is is just a general warning to beware of dogs?
No, no, this doesn't add up at all. |

It's a lousy cartoon on so many levels. If you have to EXPLAIN what it means, it's FAILED. Miserably.
