Deaf tards commentary takes up the majority of the show. It takes them 2 minutes to say a single sentence and its the same sentence.

The editing started to return to normal towards the end | ||

so hopefully that continues.

Though I applaud the race for mixing things up (it was desperately needed) it really is a sudden and jarring change. It was like going from Survivor 5 or 6 to
Gabon after one season.

Why is everyone having a hissy fit?
First of all, I'm a hardcore fan that watches every episode and I didn't notice any split screens or new music. So I doubt the casual viewer is going to care. And as far as the lack of airports, thank fucking god. I'm sick of the first 15 minutes being about which team gets on what flight. Just tell me in the summary when they board the plane, thx. So while you amazing race enthusiasts may be in t.ears, the casual viewers (such as the people I watched with) quite enjoyed the show. but yeah, the deaf kid does need to go away. |

Editing felt different, but I don't think it was really that much worse. They just cut down on the stuff that was so classic about TAR, but because of it
managed to fit in more time for the actual episode content (which, granted, all the extra minutes were wasted on fucking Luke).
Overall, I like the changes. I wasn't one of those who said the race was getting stale, but it's definitely cool that they prettied everything up and made it look and sound more exciting. Helps that the cast is pretty solid as well. All we need is the deaf kid and his mom to go (hopefully pied to death) and we got ourselves a great season. |

The first 10 minutes or so were very different and I didn't like it. However, it ended up turning into my favorite premiere ever. I think they just wanted
to skip the car ride to the first airport (which often take too long on screen) and who gets on what flights. I agree that it could have been done a little
smoother.
I liked the split screens because they used them at just the right times. They were always for transitional purposes anyway, not to show teams doing things at the same time and you had to keep your eye on both to keep up. It's going to be a great editing/storytelling tool that fixes any pace problems they had previously while keeping the audience on track as to who is doing what at what time. |

Wait so will there be no airport drama or just not the useless ones.... I mean some airport drama is good for this show so I don't think they should take
it all out...

Except for the new theme, I really liked it. The splits were perfectly timed, too. I've always thought that Survivor and TAR's editing corps take
note of new innovations from Big Brother's editors; should that be the case, they nailed the transfer this ep.
The one thing they didn't get rid of is overuse on the luck of hailing a taxi. |

So basically, you people prefer the old TAR editing? I can even summarize it for you. We spend so many time listening to teams on how excited they are to be in
The Amazing Race, as they head off to LAX. Along the way, they brag and laugh every time they pass another car when in the end, they're gonna be on the
same flight. Suspenseful music plays when the 7th placer team is in line for the first flight and then cue commercials when in fact, they're gonna be
bunched up in their destination anyways.
Seriously, aren't you all tired of that? The premiere was just awesome. You people who complain about it are PATHETIC. BEST.PREMIERE.EVER. |

Um, half you people bitch about all the dubbed airport shit we're forced to endure season after season...
And now that it's gone, you're upset?!?! I thought it was great. Love the fast paced edit. |

Um, no one bitched about airport drama ever. Retards maybe. Basically anyone who remotely enjoyed tonight's abortion.

I liked how they didn't waste the first 10-15 minutes on the "getting to the airport drama". The music is essentially the same, except "updated", so I don't mind too much. I do miss the old green and black graphics. |

XNEYOisMAD wrote: I thought it was a great premiere. It was something NEW compared to the same shit we see season after season after season. You can basically summarize the entire season in a paragraph, odds are you can do the same thing with this season by the end of it, but the new editing and effects they put into the episode was kind of refreshing instead of the same ol' same ol'. They've basically upgraded the graphics and tried a few new things like the split screen. Would you seriously rather another abortional season with the same shit over and over? They've used the same exact music, same logo with THE AMAZING RACE written over it, and same intro with people snapping their heads to face the cameras for YEARS now, it was due time for them to upgrade to something else. Honestly it was the best premiere I've seen of the show. (Should have put this in the other thread but fuck it.) |

yeah, i do not like the new logo. Love the new music for the theme, but not the theme itself. it seemed too fast. i miss the epic head turns
agreed the editing felt different, i like them showing the times, but i would have liked to see a little bit more of the teams, espically at the roadblock. i kno i know, they all acted the same way. but still. over all, i think it was a really good premire. |

I still think they need to have a 2 hour premeire, so they can introduce the teams in more detail and show more actual racing. With that said, I think what
happened was that the cheese challenge was so entertaining, and that there was so much good, funny footage, that they edited the show to show more of this
challenge and had to cut out some beginning and airport stuff. But it was worth it as the cheese challenge was priceless.
Though, to be perfectly honest, I didn't even notice the changes everyone is talking about, so I guess I didn't miss them. I enjoyed this episode. |
