At least with a final three we dont have watch any tedious closing statements.

If three people within a sub-alliance know they can make it to the final tribal council together then the last chance for someone within the larger alliance to flip and take the top people out is final 7. With a final 2, such a flip can occur as late as Final 5. This makes the later portions of the game more predictable. It also limits the value of immunity, not only at the final 3 but from final 7 onwards. If you can form a solid alliance of three then you have the option to vote out people outside your alliance regardless of immunity , barring contestants being willing to force the drawing of rocks, up to the final 4. In short the final 3 guarantees nothing but an easier path to the final tribal council. While the final 2 will sometimes result in a landslide the tensions of the final 3 immunity challenge makes for good TV, which is what Survivor is really all about. |

They could always try no final immunity challenge at the final three and have it be completely social based on who goes to the final two. It may not sound so
great to some but it would be better than a final three imo.

In some case, there will be a final 2 for the finale like Panama finale (if possible). Because they are only 16 castaways since China.

F3 sucks Donkey balls.
The whole point of the F3 final IC was willpower - the one who wanted it most was guaranteed a spot in the F2, and could pick who to take with them. Fuck this whole F3 bullshit. |

To me, the F3 system should only have been implemented once, just like exile island. Both were legitimate twists that have morphed into the core structure of
Survivor. Same goes for hidden immunity idols. Good for one, maybe two seasons but nothing more.

SurvivorNinja wrote:I feel the same way. If they were so concerned about the F3 challenge deciding the winner, then remove the F3 challenge, as simple as that. Would have been nice as a one time twist in Cook Islands, but as a permanent change it totally sucks. And the fact remains that the entire premise of changing things was flawed because the F3 challenge winner lost the game more times than they won it. Goats are part of the game, thats never gonna change. If one lets themselves get into a F3 where there's a goat there and they're not gonna get picked if they lose the challenge, well they didn't play good enough then. Thats what makes a player like Cirie so good, who realized that fact and really only lost the game because of the HII. |

One could argue that aside from the "hands on the idol" one in Borneo, Africa, Marquesas and ASS and the hang on to the pole one in Palau, very few
had to do with will power.
Australia - Fallen Comrades Thailand - holding coins in your hands in a weird position, obviously tilted towards strong young Brian Amazon, Pearl Islands, Exile Island - balance; the three that won all had an obvious advantage compared to the others Vanuatu - holding a bow & arrow, tilted towards someone with upper body strength Guatemala - balance at first, then titled towards whoever was the tallest |
