Kris was shown in a singoff so maybe he isnt one of the best and thats why he hasnt been shown!

Huh, they showed Michael Sarver and Matt Brietzke in a sing-off. I'm assuming we're in for a swerve where the judges put them both through.

Joanna Pacitti disqualified from 'American Idol,' Felicia Barton in | ||
|
A bit of a mystery has emerged on the first night of "American Idol's" season proper. Just as the Green Mile episode was put to bed Wednesday, a contestant has gone missing: Joanna Pacitti, who has been considered one of the favorites because of her previous singing experience. In the official Fox press release announcing the top 36 contestants, they list as the female singers Alexis Grace, Allison Iraheta, Ann Marie Boskovitch, Arianna Asfar, Casey Carlson, Felicia Barton, Jackie Tohn, Jasmine Murray, Jeanine Vailes, Jesse Langseth, Kendall Beard, Lil Rounds, Megan Corkrey, Mishavonna Henson, Stevie Wright, Tatiana Del Toro and Taylor Vaifunua. And below the long list of names, there was this:
That's right, no Joanna Pacitti, whom we saw make it through the Green Mile tonight. And the list includes Felicia Barton who was seen being sent packing on the Green Mile episode. A source close to the show now tells us that Pacitti was disqualified to "avoid the appearance of impropriety." In the past week, tabloids had been reporting on a private relationship between Pacitti and executives of 19 Management - one of the companies which
oversees "Idol."

Did you really just ask that question? Juanita Barber was axin' America about the Chil'run.
There's a lot of replacements that didn't make it, just for lesser known contestants. |

Lest we forget about Jaered Andrews, selected for the Top 32 in Season 2. The intrepid Mr. Andrews got into a bar fight (perhaps to celebrate his newfound
stardom?) and sort-of-accidentally-on-purpose killed somebody. The producers tried to avoid negative publicity by saying Andrews had signed with a Rap group.
Disingenuous, at best.

George Huff was the only replacement that ever made it far.
It's still funny to me that they cut him and he turned out to be the best guy of the season. |

Nikko Smith came in 9th as a replacement.

Yeah, but Nikko was a replacement into the top 12. He already made the semis, so it's a completely different scenario.

Re replacements: E.J. Day didn't initially make the semis in season 1. He was a replacement for Delano Cagnalotti, who'd lied about his age. EJ did
make the finals of course, and was the first person voted off, thus coming in 10th place (not Jim Verraros, as a lot of people think, though Jim got the boot
just a half hour later). I don't know if that counts as going "far," but I suspect that Felicia Barton would be happy to come in 10th place after
being dumped. Thylvia Chilibiti has to be the lamest replacement ever. It was fun seeing her in the "room of doom" on Idol Rewind.
George Huff was not only the best male singer in season 3, but IMHO he was the ONLY good male singer in the whole season. It's not only surprising but a scathing indictment of the judges that he didn't initially make the semis over such pathetic competition. Niko Smith sang well in his first 2 semifinal appearances. Unfortunately everything he did afterwards on the show sucked and the "street" vibe he tried to give off even though his father is a multi-millionaire was kind of pathetic (Beyonce tries to pull the same s#*t on us, BTW). He didn't do anything during the finals to justify being there, although Part Time Lover IS one of the best songs on the season 4 compilation CD. |

The two blondes on the left side in the 4th row look almost identical, and both look a lot like Kim Caldwell (among others). This is what I call NOT a
coincidence. I'll bet 90% of Simon's dates have looked like this, with the other 10% looking something like (or were!) Leona Lewis.
I had heard that both Sylvia Chilibiti and Juanita Barber were replacements. One for Frenchy of course, and one for some other woman who left. It's been awhile, but I'll see if I can find my printed-at-the-time list of the top 32 (from the long defunct YM) which I'm almost positive Sylvia wasn't on. |

It's in alphabetical order by first name, which always makes me laugh, but makes sense. Who can be arsed to learn their first AND last names at this point?
